Hi
Can I ask some advice please?
2 of my lovely bridesmaids have volunteered to do me a sweetie table (well to do the hard work organising putting it together etc and maybe decorating the room/area) we will be paying for it.
They have recently asked me how much their budget is and I have no idea. Can any give me some ideas of the amounts they have spent.
I will have about 60/65 guests in the day and then maybe up to 90 in teh evening.
Any advice welcomed.0 -
For my daughters wedding, 2 weeks ago, we had a sweet table. We had 1 huge jar that was layered with millions, the layers weren't straight or even ammounts and it looked great. My daughter wanted a mixture of colours and we had great fun planning it.
We didn't go with labels as they weren't bothered about them but this site looks great.... http://classifieds.weddingbee.com/topic/free-candy-buffet-tags-sign-and-banner-in-exchange-for-advertisting-ma-onlycurlylou1986 wrote: »Thanks BarbC - i think the disney theme is how its going to go, we were thinking of going to costco's (mum has a member card) having a look at what they have and work out the cost comparaison to ordering online.
Must admit have had quick look on ebay too, and there are some sweet sellers on there that have quite good prices for some things.
Malamay - your colours theme sounds good, how about getting some of the tins of roses/quality street and use the blue and purple wrapped sweets from there?

Thats gorgeous!! Where did you get the glasses at the back with the wriggly stems?
I picked up 2 lovely jars from Tesco today, clear, sort of retro sweet jars which I thought were a bargain at £1.50 each. However after going through the checkout they were only 37p each!!! Love a bargain!Ideas, help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!:happyhearMarrying my Mr Perfect 20130 -

Hello ladies! (and possibly gents
) From your wonderful pictures you have all inspired me to do one of these for my own wedding next year.
I was just wondering how you went about "opening" your candy buffets? I mean, did you let people help themselves as soon as they walked into the reception room (i.e. before the meal) or did you keep it covered up until later on (so as to make sure people ate their meal)? I'm just trying to think of how my day will run - getting married at 3pm, having sit down meal around 5.30pm-ish. Having the whole event in one venue so had thought of: ceremony first, then have the sweet buffet outside where people would gather for arrival drinks and they could help themselves while photos are taking place (something for them "to do"), then meal afterwards (the rooms will be re-dressed during this time too)......but then i thought if everyone that comes gorges on sweets (mainly the kids) then they might not eat any of their meal! Think I'm over thinking this a bit and most definitely rambling....:o
So back to my original question - what time of day are you all doing your buffets? Thanks in advance x

You can put a little sign up saying buffet opens at such and such time0

Hi ladies, just wanted to point out that I was in Poundland yesterday and they were doing a 3 for £2 offer on bags of Haribo. The sweets in PL are already cheap, but if you're looking for marshmallows, jelly beans, liquorice or jelly babies this is definitely a good offer (and handy for those of us who no longer have a Costco card;))0

Hi I am doing mine in the evening. While the room is changed around after the meal and the band sets up we will be setting the candy buffet up. I want it there for the evening guests coming in, and since it will be mostly adults there, I wont have to worry about hyper kids throwing up on the dance floor!lol.
Im having a wonder of WHERE to put mine. We are having the whole day in the one place, and outside the reception room is like an ante-room where there is the cloakroom, and the evening buffet table will be set up. I'm not sure whether to have it there or put it inside the actual reception room, as its small to begin with! Argh!!!Ideas, help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!:happyhearMarrying my Mr Perfect 20130
