we didnt ask permission for it anymore than we did for anything else really... but when we mentioned it briefly during a meeting with our co-ordinator, she pulled a face,
but on the day confessed she thought it was amazing and she had thought by "sweet" we meant pudding,
so make sure your venue knows you mean pik n mix0 -
I did hear (not sure which forum) that someone did want to do one but the venue wouldn't let them because the sweets where not in there own little packets they said it was cause of health and hygieneI Love My Computer Because My Friends Live In It0

Thanks everyone
I know another couple who got married at my venue earlier this year, who said the staff were beyond helpful. I'll give them a ring next week just to check, before I buy any more jars x

my local tesco has loads of vases from 95p to £2ish, some are big perfect for sweetie tables!!!!!Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue. Only fools are statues every day. (15.09.12 cant wait!)0

I'm very lucky to have a talented friend who sells these :-) Think they are around £6 for 8 little but pricey bit oh so worth it for the effect xI am having a hot pink and ivory theme and am secretly doing a candy buffet for my OH who is a sweetie-aholic. I struggled to do all pnk and white as it looked too pale, so Ive chucked a bit of red in as well to zing it up a bit.
Buying as I see things but have got so far:
B&M ie cheaper than usual price - Marshmallows (haribo)heart and starshaped lollies (I weeded the pink an green ones out!)and huge swirly pops
Poundland -strawberry lances, strawberry hearts
Morrisons - value wrapped clear mints (no logo) 39pish a bag and strawberry bon bons 3 for £2 offer
Def want white mice, mini lovehearts and some sugar free selections from t'interweb
Doing pink iced cupcakes with loveheart toppers
Thought of a bowl of fresh strawberries too
