hancocks or bookers sell 3kg bags depending on what u want depends on how much the bags are.i buy mine from here.u will need to be a registered business to use them though,do u know anyone who has a business that could get a card for you?
otherwise u could try home bargains or B&M but again depending on how much u want as u could end up buying 5/6 packs of sweets and would have been cheaper from a wholesalers
  • Ladies thank you all. Am off to hobbycraft later to see what I can pick up.
    So far I have spent
10 jars from Asda as recommended by Shrimping Shelly - £10.50
    100 paper bags Ebay - £2.20
Large centre piece jar - Wilkinsons - £5
    6 clear scoops - Ebay - £5.20
Sweets and lollies - £28.00 - I have 10 varieties in the smaller jars and a mixture of things like drumstick lollies, wham bars, parma violets in the big jar.
Plus when I finish them 2 marshmallow trees to set it all off. Have seen huge bags of marshmallows in poundland. So just depends on what the polystyerene balls and dowels cost me.

So all in all about £60. Not bad considering that what sparked me doing into doing it all myself was everyone I contacted were about £165 for about 8 - 10 jars only. Ok they came and set it up but still. My son has already asked if I will do a candy buffet for his birthday party in Nov. So will adapt and do a lolly tree.
    Thanks again ladies
PS Forgot to say used a silver photo frame that I already had for their message.

Do you have a local sweet shop that would be able to get you some sweets. Your Jars dont sound to big so you may find that the 3kg bags you would have a lot left over 1 tub of sweets should be more then enough to fill 1 jar. Do you know anyone that as a card for bookers. When trying to work out how many sweets you will need buy some that you like and will eat and fill 1 jar at a time so you can work out how many bags you will need. Some supper markets have sweets on offer 3 bags for a £1.00 you may find 2 or 3 lots of them may be enough for some of your jars. Do you have any photos of your jars if i have the same ones i may be able to work it out for you. If you have a look on mu blog you will see photos of some i have done
