Inspired by other folks' postings this morning I went out to my local charity shop browsing for bargains - well, I ended up with a winter coat for myself for £4.50 (a miracle in itself, they never usually have anything in my size) but nowt else.

Then I got home, put on the coat for DD1's approval, stuck my hand in the pocket and .......... FOUND A TENNER!!!! :j

So that's me on target after all! Still can't believe it though, that's the sort of thing that usually only happens to other people, never me. Must be the vibes from this thread! :D

    hi all
    Could i join?
think im going to try and do it for my mum, to help her with a cc debt.
will start by selling the bath support she brought for my baby son.
but not sure what to do after that, any ideas?
    kind regards
    becky

Welcome Becky! The rule is you have to start with £1 which you make from something which didn't cost you anything. So if your mum gave you the bath support and you didn't pay anything for it that's a good one to start with. Good luck :D

How is everyone managing the 'virtual' funds?

    I have earned £21.14. I have spent £10.93. The difference is £10.22.

Does that mean my sig should have £21.14 in it, or £10.22?

I don't know either... I have asked before but no-one ventured an answer! Personally I put down the lower figure, then if those items sell I can add on all the money i get in and see total go up again! :j

For those discussing ebay auctions etc... have a quick look at this:

I'm off to post 7 items that sold last night so will have some profit to report later! :j :T

Wow! Well done, that's excellent news. Am surprised the charity shop staff didn't find it!

  • i am doing a running total....so example....

if i have £20 in my kitty and i spend £10. in the charity shop i then reduce my bal to £10. as its the challlenge is to get to £1.024 CASH or vertual cash well on paper anyway... and you know its only a matter of time before its in your hands:D ...

so i am only counting the cash that i can spend as my total.. hope that makes sense....

as really you cant use your stock value in your total as you dont know what its going to sell for as you might make a loss, or it might not sell....as at the end of the day your stock is worth nothing until you sell it.....

i better go now..as i will end up confusing myself...

anyway another 52p to add to my total from ptr site... not alot... but its the second lot.... :j

  • I'm also doing the lower amount, if i spend a tenner of the funds then i take it off the total and when the stuff sells on ebay i know that all the money can be added on without having to think what was the net profit
Debt of £6300 cleared in 5 years, now ZERO

Just a thought - has anyone thought about what they are going to do further down the line when the money turns into hundreds?

I think im going to go and have a chat to some of the local wholesalers and see what they have and what I can mebbe turn a decent profit on. I was thinking Xmas stuff but I doubt I'll be able to beat the £1 shop ...

    Something to think about?
