For the 3k Challenge in Jan shall we say it's money that we've made on top of our 'normal' income? I think that would be good coz if you got an extra job it would count. If you sold OH it would count (soz OH:o ).etc...

Anyway... back to this challenge. Flu's hopefully on its last legs so this weekend I will ...... Matched bet (having learnt from my mistake), list on ebay (have got 4 freebies to go up), have also got my eye on a couple of things that I could buy and sell on at profit, might go past hairdressers as well and see if they've got any of those FHM bags in. Oooooohhh, forgot about the books donated to me - have to shift those too - 2 of them are limited edition Guiness book of Records so you never know. Also want to look more into the Tesco threads. I haven't got a tesco's near me (nearest one's city centre - about 40 mins in traffic) so I want to know what I'm going in for before I go.

Well done again Annie!! I think I'm as excited as you that you've met the target coz it proves that it's possible with grit determination and bl**dy hard work :T

Although I have glanced at this thread before I am now going back to the beginning to read it all. Currently on page 12 of 133.

As previously mentioned a few posts above would it be an idea to have a summary of hints and tips which would be great for newbies and might even inspire some of the current challengers.

Great thread BTW which is both fun and inspiring. Will join round 2. :T

Boomdocker - I think the hints/tips thing is what Annie wants us to do on the first post of the 3k challenge (i.e. trade secrets)

    :j Well done Annie :j

I have been watching this thread but I am doing the 'money from anything' challenge because I was daunted by doubling the money in last week :o but you have shown that it can be done so once again well done to you and all of the others who have raised 'money from nothing' :T

I am going to try this I think. Just listed a couple of things on ebay - a freebie I got the other day, and some tickets I won. Hopefully will give me a tenner to kick things off!

Firstly thanks guys for all your congrats - I feel very happy today as I don't normally get anywhere first!
Right I will list everything I have done to get money from nothing.
    • Use money of coupons to buy DVD's, CD's and PC/PS2/Xbox games/perfume and then sell them on amazon/ebay ( look at the threads on this site for the best coupons )
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=308056

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=199126
    • Use money off coupons to buy as many toiletries as you can and sell them at carboots. (currently tesco have coupons which allow you (if used correctly and you have a friendly sales assistant) to purchase £20 woth of shampoo etc for literally pennies check out the threads listed below for more info
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=323715
    • Join mystery shopping sites and do as many as you can - I even do them in my lunch hour! Retail eyes/ gapbuster/grassroots
    • Join online survey sites and cashback sites (pigsback/quidco) it all adds up
    • Use freecycle to get stuff to sell - now this can be seen to be unethical so it's up to you - IMO if others don't want it and it's being recycled then what does it matter if money is made? I've had many free books which I have sold for profit and other bits like a brand new boxed electric toothbrush which I sold on Ebay - remember that come spring carbooting will be back so stock up on sellable bits - make sure you receive e-mails as they come in from freecycle and join as many local ones as possible so long as you are able to collect stuff.
    • Take Tesco up on their R&R policy especially when they overcharge you on saleable goods such as phones,cd's, dvd's etc (site links below)
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=282052
    • Have a really good clear out and sell everything that you truly don't need
    • Play bingo online but be sensible
    • Get into matched betting - I've made nothing from this yet but hubby promises to get into it big time in new year - I await the rewards for my total as he will be using my money!
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=41
    • Get part time jobs - ironing, cleaning, babysitting
    • Utilise anything that can make you money be crafty but legal - for instance recently the telegraph (i think) had an offer for the secret seven cd's I missed it but contacted them and bought 3 lots of cd's for about £10.30 and sold them for a total of about £40 therefore making nearly £30.
    • Use this site for looking out for freebies etc that you can sell.
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=37
    • Use your noddle and make some money
    • Not included in my total is the £754 I just got back from my local council as I had been wrongly banded for my council tax since 2000 - this site is a mine of info spend time looking through it - it will save/make you money http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=278090
Ok that's about it guys - if anyone would like to add thread links please feel free and if you have any questions ask away - I hope this helps you all and good luck with your continuing money from nothing and if your joining our £3k challenge then bring it on!!!!!!!!!!
    :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T
