Hi,

Just wanted to pass on the good news, finally got an answer from Welcome Finance and they are upholding my claim and they have sent out an acceptance letter for £3105.28!

I can't believe it, I want to cry! It means I can clear my feet of what I owe out and finially start to do things properly.

My message is don't give up, I started this back in July and kept pushing it through. Ok I don't have the cash yet but the best thing is they have admited they are were in the wrong thats the best feeling. :rotfl:

Good Luck everyone!

P.s and a huge Thank You to everyone who offered advice and pointed me in the right direction!

  • I`m really pleased for you :T

    It feel`s good doesn`t it?

    We were paid out not long ago from Welcome....they seem to be getting their act together with their PPI claims now....although unfortunately we went through the horrendous Loancheck route so ours took close on three years!

    Congrats - i bet you feel like a huge weight is off your shoulders now eh? :beer:
  • Saraanddarren,

    I certainly do feel that way. Don't get me wrong once the money is in my bank account I'll be 100% happy but the thought alone is nice enought :)

    It took about a fortnight for them to send our cheque after the offer of settlement - but we went through a solicitor so i would have thought your`s should be quicker.

    Every morning after we received the offer letter (well lunchtime - you know what the posties are like with the mail these days! :D) we were rushing to the doormat to check the post! It sure did feel sweet when we received it!

    Well done, i love hearing about peoples successes :T
  • The guy I spoke to said they where going to pay it by BACs, I need to fill out the form with my bank details and send it back to them. Now that is a recorded delivery I really dont mind paying for! :)

    Keep checking that bank balance ;)

    Dead pleased for you hun :beer:
  • LisaLash that is amazing news!! Tell me, what day in july did you send your letter to welcome finance? Their 8 weeks is up for me on wednesday next week.

    Also, did they send you a letter after 4 weeks to let you know they haven't started it yet? It says in the complaints hadling procedure that they would, funny story actually, i called them after 6 weeks to check as I hadn't heard anything. They said they sent a letter on the 19th august (this was last friday) and it was probably lost in the mail. Sure enough, 2 hours later a letter came throughthe door, on its own. it looked like it had been dragged through a fax machine backwards and stuffed in an envolope quickly, and there was no postman in sight. Strange :think:
    Debts remaining: £0/£16000
    PPI reclaimed: Halifax £2300, Welcome Finance - £2400
  • Well done, I am waiting for £5700 coming back from them after accepting this week, wonder how long the BACS transfer will take? I sent my form back special next day delivery. Cost me £5 , but money well spent! x
  • I have finally suceeded in getting a £600 PPI refund from Capital One. However, just found out its not just loans and credit cards, I have found mis sold PPI on my Car Loan and Catalogue???

    The four main PPI Categories are…:j

    (a) PPI on first-charge mortgages;
    (b) PPI on second-charge mortgages and other secured loans;
    (c) PPI on unsecured loans (mostly comprising PPI for personal loans, but also including PPI on retail credit, such as car loans, hire purchase and catalogue purchases); and
    (d) PPI on credit card repayments.

    So basically if you have any of the following, Mortgage, Secured Loans, Unsecured Loans, Car Loan, or any other Hire Purchase agreement eg. Catalogue or Store Card you could have been mis sold PPI.

    I actually sent my forms away originally at the end of May to my local branch but when I chased it up they had lost the forms. So I sent them again to the branch and they forwarded them on to the complaints department on the 16th July.

    I got a letter when the 8 weeks was nearly up asking for another 4 weeks to look in to the complaint. Last Wednesday (8th) was the 4 week deadine and that's when I gave them a call and they told me about the letter coming out (2nd class post, mind!).

    So I'm waiting patiently as possible on the letter and like tufters01 I'll be sending it special delivery with a convoy of armed guards back them.

    Once I see the cash in my bank account then I will start celebrating ;)
