I've just bought a reduced duck crown thing in Tesco, what would this come out like in the slow cooker? I know from cooking chicken in the SC, the meat seems to go further so was hoping this would be the case with duck.
Also, any ideas on what to put in with it?
I was a bit unsure about this one but have found these links of recipes for you which sound lovely

Hi I have dusted off my SC and am hoping to do Gammon in it tomorrow.
Thinking of trying the coke idea...do I completely cover joint? Will diet coke b e ok. Was thinking of making homemade chips...anyone know how I can do this with just an oven and a tray as no deep fat fryer.
Trying to use just ingredients I have but if anyone has other suggestions to what I can serve with it then i would be very grateful!
You MUST use full fat coke as you need the sugar from the full fat version.MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

Yes that will be fine as long as you cool the mince mixture before putting it into the fridge.

Thank you...also how much would you put in...enough to cover half or all the gammon?
Hi MRS TO BE,
I would only put enough cola in to half cover the joint. There are lots of tips and advice on this thread:

Hi, being good and trying to save as much money as poss, i bought a cookworks slow cooker the other week from Argos:j and so far have only done stews, casseroles etc. And now its time to get adventurace (sp)!
Well Ive just done the meal plan for next week and was wondering if you can do Jacket spud in the SC? Im also doing some lamb steaks which i have in the freezer in the normal oven i would put them in a tray and cover it with sliced tomato, sliced onion and mushroom, how would i do this in the slow cooker, the same way?
Please help me. Oh and im so pleased i found this thread it's made my day :T0 -
Just bumping to see if anyone could give a little advice and help
Thanks0 -
well bumped!! Ccan't see any reason why you couldn't do the lamb the same way as in the oven. Never done jacket potatoes in there, obviously they wouldn't have the lovely crisp jackets like they do if oven cooked. Why not throw some in this weekend for a trial run0
