    Hi,

I have 4 chicken thighs in the fridge and a colemans chicken casserole sachet in cupboard and frozen veg in the freezer (carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, peas, sweetcorn, green beans)

I want to put it in my slow cooker at 8am on low until 5.30 ... so I'm going to skin the thighs, brown them off... put in slow cooker... make up sachet and pour in followed by a handful of frozen veg (as above)

Will this be ok on low heat from 8am - 5.30 ... It has a 'keep warm' function for when cooking time is up :) or will it be overcooked?

    Many Thanks!

  • I've done chicken for far longer than that before on low, so should be fine. Don't forget to use slightly less water in the sauce than it says.

  • Burp your frozen veg will be pretty mashed after being left for so long, they'll mush into the sauce nicely but if you want them as veggies you might want to just boil them when you come home or add them to the SC for an hour.

  • I wondered whether it would be alright to cook some chicken in condensed mushroom soup in the slow cooker. Has anyone tried it? I am a bit worried it might curdle. Thanks

I have had my slow cooker on since 10.30 this morning with a chicken carcess in and some veg peelings making stock. I'd like to leave it on overnight as the bones aren't yet soft. It's the tefal 4 in 1 rice/slow cooker Anyone know if this is ok to do or will it overheat?

Campbells soup website has recipes... and quite a few of them suggest the recipe is suitable for slow cookers :D

do a search for 'campbells soup' and on their recipe section ule see the slow cooker recipes :)

  • Hello everyone. Quick question.

Does anyone leave their slow cooker on over night?

I'm cooking stewing steak for a meat pie and wondered if it was safe to cook overnight using cheap electricity.

I put mine on overnight at least once a week to take advantage of the cheap leccy rate. ;) Turn it off in the morning and heat through thoroughly before you serve.

Hi! I'm hoping someone out there can help me. I have a half leg of lamb, boneless, defrosted - 750g which I am about to try and cook.

I was wondering - can I throw it in the slow cooker? We need to eat about 6.30pm - so thats four hours. Will it be done in time, or do I have to stay in and watch this stupid thing cook?! If I can slow cook it, what do I do with it?

I'm kind of hoping to go out in the next hour or so and coming back to a fully cooked leg of lamb would be lush! Please throw your suggestions at me!!
