Personally I would put in into a saucepan on hob for about the last 20 mins and make sure it gets really bubbling boiling hot.......
I had the same thing happen last week with a pork casserole and I finished it off on the hob and it was fine (DH & I still here to tell the tale!).
Enjoy!

Right
I bought a slow cooker in March - a Russel Hobbs dual pot slow cooker
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Russell-Hobbs-10951-dual-cooker/dp/B0000E5SPN/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1220979815&sr=8-1
And I have only used it once!
But I'm now back at work working longer hours so I'm getting it back out tonight!
A couple of questions:- If I buy frozen veg to put in the slow cooker to bulk out casseroles do I have to cook the veg before I put it in? Can I add it to the rest of the ingredients straight away?
- If I buy a Colemans/Schwartz packet casserole do I just use the quantity of liquid it says to use or more/less?
- Do I HAVE to brown minced beef?

I've never tried frozen veg except peas. I imagine it would have to be heated and added at the end or it would be a soggy mush.
Hopefully somebody who's tried it will be along.0 -

Best not to add it straight away but around an hour before you plan to eat or the veg will be overcooked.
- If I buy a Colemans/Schwartz packet casserole do I just use the quantity of liquid it says to use or more/less? Not sure as I haven't tried it, but it will depend on your slow cooker. They are all different and some cook the food quicker than others. If it makes a lot more liquid than you add then add less, if it cooks quite quickly and the liquid evaporates then add a bit more.
- Do I HAVE to brown minced beef? No you don't have to brown mince but I always do because I think it makes it look and taste better and helps to break it up. Some people never brown mince they put in the slow cooker. I think it's a matter of personal choice.

Just did a search about frozen veg in a slow cooker and the 'Campells soup website' said you can use it but you have to defrost it before hand0 -

1. Not sure
2. Use less, as the lid keeps the steam in so it doesn't thicken otherwise.
3. Nope, I never do.Weight loss to date - 8st 13lbs :j0 -
sorry I'd disappeared off before I saw your question. I know it's too late now. but yes the high heat setting should have done that no problem. afterall, you could have cooked the whole thing from scratch in about 4 hours on high.
How did it turn out??I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle0 -

Not technically true, water boils at 100c yes, however if you add anything to the water (such as salt, seasoning, packet mixes, browning etc) it can affect the boiling point. In all likelihood it will still be over 72c but it's not guaranteed.
