Sounds good to me - I might take out the cabbage and pop it in for the last half an hour - and bear in mind the fact that it won't thicken up, so you'll need to add something like cornflour or tomato puree at the end.0

i just throw it all in at the start and let it get on with it i've never had an issue yet, but i don't add cabbageDEC GC £463.67/£450

I had read somewhere that you shouldn't put frozen meat in as it doesn't get hot enough for long enough..0

I cheat with the frozen meat. I make up everything the night before and shove the frozen meat in - then in the morning just switch it on, meat is defrosted and all is well

I think the frozen ones tend to be in a minted gravy but I have had a fresh one before that came in a redcurrant sauce?
if anyone has any different ideas for cooking lamb shanks then i'd love to hear them as it's my favourite dinner!0 -
