  • OK, a rather drastic idea here!

Last winter a friend of mine with an open fire burnt mainly scavenged wood and placed several empty tin cans (food, not alcohol!!!) in the fire around the wood, and it certainly seemed to store more heat. As I say, a bit drastic and best done when alone as visitors just don't seem to get the idea.... :D

Currently watching Day after tomorrow and feeling very chilly - has inspited me to get prepared for winter more thoroughly. Will settle down with a coffee tomorrow and read this entire thread. Thanks for all the great ideas that I'm sure I'll pick up. xx
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.
  • Ooh, another idea, I put sheets of bubble wrap under floor rugs which makes them warmer. I use them on carpeted areas and vinyl floors, but do be careful, although the bubble wrap does grip a bit its probably safer to put a bit of that rubber grippy stuff underneath it to be on the safe side.

Nah, it's caused by a genetic fault, there is insufficient blood for both their reproductive organs and their brain, this is why they are unable to multitask.

I have recorded that but am a bit scared to watch it... Can't make up my mind if I should max out the CCs in advance of the end of the world or stock up on arcenic because knowing my luck, I will be left to pay the debt!!

No, seriously, that sort of stuff worries the bejeezus out of me... Is it really seriously scary or not so much? Shall I delete it or watch it?

I bought some thermals yesterday from a place called store twenty one. They're not patterned but are ribbed and kept me nice and toasty in the evening along with my fleece PJ's, fleece socks and big boot slippers :D.

I bought the long sleeve one for £5, and the body part of it is quite long so I could tuck it in.

Are their sizes small fitting or big fitting?
