    A dehumidifier is magic. I have a dread of damp, we had one bottom corner of one bedroom that used to go balck, but since then we found it was coming from a leak in the roof (weird lol) and now its fixed. But I wont get rid of my dehumidifier . It helps dry washing and makes the air smell fresher. Mine was off Amazon and I'm sorry I forget how much it was.

    We have this exact problem! I'm very interested in finding out the answer

    Ive had problem in past houses ive lived in but I must admit they wernt double glazed and your house is....

    I suggest standing a de humidifier on the landing so it does 3 bedrooms , and always have your windows open slightly for fresh air to ventilate the rooms..........as long as youve got plenty of warm flannelette sheets,duvet and warm fleece on top you will take no harm, a cold bedroom to sleep in is very healthy as long as you are warm in the bed..............:D

    Re: the bathroom situation- maybe you could get some curtains to cover as much of the wall as possible as well as the window, giving you some needed wall insulation.

    A large rug would be easier than trying to get a carpet fitted in a hurry and would keep some warmth in for the winter.

  • OMG, I am in SUCH a mood:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

    Said to DH, let's cut the fleece lining for the curtains for the caravan doors this afternoon...vacuum the lounge carpet and then lay them and cut them to the measurements and then I will sew them onto the curtains...

    Oh no, Einstein decided he would rather paint the skirting boards in our bedroom....

    Result, skirting boards are still wet, carpets are folded back, I could kill myself trying to go to the loo during the night, over that lot.

    He has just gotten one BIG verbal bol---ing, which was second to none.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

    Why are men so damn stubborn?:(

    Slightly off topic but a few years back I asked the (now) ex to wash down the inside of the back door in the kitchen as it was looking grubby... Damn fool decided to paint over the grime rather than wash it down :eek: I was heavily pg with twins at the time and ALL smells made me so ill.. I mean what WAS he thinking :mad::mad::mad::mad:

    (same ex tried to wallpaper over pipes rather than box them in when I asked... he was not impressed when I used a biro to poke holes in him to show WHY YOU DON'T PAPER OVER PIPES!!!!!!!!)
