I flew home to my mum last weekend and had the awful task of telling her that she had a major crisis - there was only 1 loo roll left:rotfl::rotfl:. As she is a widow at home alone, it is not really the end of the world as it will be ok for a few days/ week or so, but my first thought was this thread and the full scale panic it would cause:D:DA smile costs little but creates much0

i wanted to thank the op who posted about the usb heated fingerless gloves from dealextreme... i got them late yesterday after i'd shut of the computer for the day so i tried them this morning and omg they are lovely! :T
my hands felt so loose and relaxed after the first round with them. then i let my daughter use them a bit and now i'm wearing them because my hands had become cold... i got that lovely thawing out feeling within seconds they are pure dead brilliant!
for anyone else that was contemplating them this is the link to all the available sets, mine are the top ones, the black ones
took around 2.5 weeks to get them but well worth the wait, thanks again to the op my sore hands thank you!0 -

I've tried google but no luck. I'm trying to think, I'm sure we had passed through Lundin Links and were heading up a country road towards RAF Leauchars. It wasn't to far out from the park and ride which had a cafe in it. Strathfields ring any bells?0 -
Yes St Andrews is a lovely town. I am just a few miles from it, awful expensive to shop in St Andrews!!!
Plenty of Eastern Europeans still here where i live they are picking vegetables and potatoes though, think its too late for the fruit now.
I remember going to a theatre in St Andrews with my Higher English class. We had two hours to spend in the town before the play started. The teacher gave us a little information sheet telling us places to eat (marked £ to £££ depending on how expensive they were) 9/10 were marked £££.
We found a lovely little tea room who made the most wonderful hot chocolate and it was so cheap. That was 7 years ago though.0 -
Just changed my motor insurance and was advised to put the emergency helpline number and policy number into my mobile. I was thinking that this might be a good idea just in case you get stranded somewhere during the winter. I think that I'll put a little note behind the visor or on the back of the tax disc too!
Might be worth carrying through at home too... plumbers, electricians etc numbers placed in a prominent place?
Hope that we don't need them of course!:)The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

Please and Thank You are the magic words;)0 -

Always advisable to keep a note of OH/mum/dad etc number incase you get stranded and your mobile runs out of battery. I've lost count of the amount of times I could have called for a lift but didn't know someones number off the top of my head. Obviously if you know the number then thats fine but just incase.0 -

i'm afraid not, i don't have a car so any travel i've been on when i lived in st andrews or now about 6 miles away is by bus or train... if you do remember please let me know.. hopefully a bus runs out that way probably too late for this year but maybe next0
