Mad4camping wrote: »Hi, last year i bougt from Dunelm. Thick oilcloth and some thick clear pvc. I got whatever random design was reduced... which they do at our local store all the time.
I used this to cover a good amount of our wooden floor at the front door and the back. It was enough for us all to get in and shut the door and cold out without damaging the floor with all the snow ice and grit. I put the door mat on it so the oilcloth didnt slide around. I also stood all our wellies and boots on sample swatches of carpets and they would absorb any drops and puddles. On a night time I would give the oil cloth a mop so it was clean. I folded this up once the weather was ok... i think i might need to gett that out again.. hope this helps someoneThe beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

I think it could be this one.

ETA: I'm sure it was that one. 1.5 miles out with St Andrews sounds about right.0 -

Hey preppers
The USB gloves/handwarmers are on ebay... http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=usb+gloves&_sacat=See-All-Categories and I even found some USB heated slipper/foot warmers on amazon!!!

I've bought more loo rolls as HB still had the Comfy Soft ones in as a star buy plus a small clothes airer for £6.99. I won't have wet washing around the house (sure I've posted that before) but thought if I can't get it out on the line I will partly dry it in my dryer and then finish it off on the airer. Haven't really got the room for one but it's small enough to stick in the bathroom during the day.
Oh, and I still haven't found any de-icer in B &M's, HB's, Asda or Poundstretcher. Won't step foot in a te£co unless dire emergency!
Our B & M's had some microwaveable cuddle things on clearance at £1 yesterday as well as some microwavable slippers. Think they were £2. HTH someone0 -
Just doing a MrT online shop and asked my DD, aged 5, if there was anything she could think of that we need... She raised an eyebrow, grinned and said...... Toilet Roll? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Cheeky monkey! She knows that you can't move for the stuff in my bedroom as I got it on offer!!!0

oooh love the look of that place, daughter has asked if we can have her birthday party there next year!0 -
Just changed my motor insurance and was advised to put the emergency helpline number and policy number into my mobile. I was thinking that this might be a good idea just in case you get stranded somewhere during the winter. I think that I'll put a little note behind the visor or on the back of the tax disc too!
Might be worth carrying through at home too... plumbers, electricians etc numbers placed in a prominent place?
Hope that we don't need them of course!:)
So glad you said that, collecting my new car tomorrow & I have the breakdown recovery card in the visor, think I better move it!A smile costs little but creates much0 -
