K good luck with the weight loss - i am diabetic too and need to lose weight but because I am inactive I find it really difficult - what about having the coat altered - would be worth it if you like it and cheaper than a new one? I have the same problem with my birthday one from last year - only wore it twice and now too big - will take it to the tailor and see what he can suggest.
drinkupretty even an old towell along the gap would do until you can get something proper sorted and it would be easy enough to fling in the washing if it gets wet.
toots xPeace will be mine
could do better - must try harder

I prefer base layers to thermals as they are high wicking, I have three sets I sleep in and they keep their shape nicely so the leg cuffs stay around my ankles.

just a quick update on my heating upgrade - had a chap over on friday - to talk about options - he really doesn't want me to opt for gas central heating - as it will be lots of hassle and hard work for his men
i really don't want to keep the electric storage heaters and as i can't have a woodburner - i think gas is the way to go - so i think i will call the chap on monday morning to give him the news that he is dreadingsaving money by growing my own - much of which gets drunk
made loads last year :beer:0 -

One thing I'm putting on my shopping list for my next pay day is a new pair of Yak Trax. They were invaluable for the last three winters (especially as the pavements don't get gritted any more) but last year one snapped slightly, and although I can still use it, I'd like to invest in a new set. I'd heartily recommend them to anyone who worries about slipping on ice.
I feel like making a big change in my life, but I'm not sure how big a one I could cope with. A friend is looking for a lodger, in Newcastle, but I'm wondering if that would be to big a step. Plus...it would be a lot colder!
