... OT : Have any of you ladies used a moon cup before i have just invested in one after the price of sanatry products have gone up i think it will pay for its self in mt1 ....How do you feel about it ???? ...
you'll find an older moon cup discussion thread here as well. I like the idea of them but thankfully I'm past the age! sanpro prices are horrendous, I'm sure if men used them it would all be available on free prescriptionmaybe its something the WI could be lobbying about (or maybe they do?).

It was sometimes a worry when I was in schools that didnt have private rinsing facilities
I thought about one for a while but that was my worry ..... communal toilets at work:( and luckily don't have a need anymore.Carolyntia wrote: »Jema. I personally had a coil fitted due to having heavy periods and haven't had to use any sanitary products since. Apparently they last five years. However this is suitable for me because I have no intention of having any kids
I'm similar but get the injection - also had really heavy & painful ones and often having very bad stomach cramps anyway (Crohn's), it was the easiest solution.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I made my last one out of a piece of old fleece blanket, I just drew around the hw bottle, allowing an inch for seams, and then stitched it together (no fraying with fleece!); it didn't look the most elegant thing but it did a good job of keeping in the heat.
I've a couple of old towels so may give it a try with them, thanks:DGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Whilst we're all stocking up on toilet rolls and tea bags etc, lets not forget some choc or nice treats, something for when the kids (and you) get cabin fever in the event of heavy snowfall; the problem will be finding somewhere to hide them! Might also be a good idea to stock up on colouring/reading/puzzles or whatever your kids like.
I've been sorting out my videos and dvds, I have a nice list of winter viewing sorted, and lots of books to read in case the power goes offI might even be tempted by a jigsaw or two. Last year I was housebound for over 3 weeks because of icy pavements so this year I'm making sure I'm prepared
Hi all, hope all the prep is going well,,its very satisfying ticking it off the list but my list gets bigger and bigger!!!
I have done exactly that rosieben:) I call it my snow day box, so far have a couple cheap dvds, some toffees, choc, hot choc and marshmallows, jigsaw, pack cards, popcorn, have put hot water bottles and new hats gloves in there for now and a game of russian roulette but with chocolates and one has a fiery chilli in it!! It was a cheapy thing I picked up in a garden centre of all places. Also want to add some pamper stuff for me and dd cos the boys will play out in snow all day but she wont so I figure we can do facepacks,foot-spa and any other pampering whilst eating choc and watching chick flicks ;-)
I still need to order coal, but not sure where to store it,,think will order bags and just cover them outside but store one half bag inside to keep it dry and ready for burning. Got loads of logs but some are massive and need cutting OH just huffed when I asked if he can cut them. Will work on that one!
My cupboards are bulging with my approved food order, trip to costco & offers in supermarkets,,it is nice to have a good storecupboard though. Easier to replenish if u see what i mean,,it seems we have lots of essentials and more so its easy to just top up and keep ontop of stuff.
My fleece and craighopper trousers came today,,love them they are soo lovely, may see if they still have fleeces on offer would like another one, thanks again for the link to them :T
OH has a plan to replace kids bedroom windows as they are draughty and old wood,,hoping to get them ordered this month. Have already noticed a huge difference downstairs (living room an kitchen open plan) since new kitchen gone in and all holes (some huge) been filled and sealed up. New floor is warmer to stand on too.
Just gotta weatherproof my rabbit hutch, get some more bits then its bring on the howling gales, rain and snowfall ;-) Sooo looking forward to hibernating and making a list for summer:rotfl:Life happens when you are busy making other plans

No chance mummytoo, my heating goes on at end of Oct and off at end off March. Brought up with and married into the forces and that's the way it's always been done. Us old 'uns are tough
Thats what i do as well, but not forces related, its what my mum did when I was growing up in the 70's so its just stuck. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -

Might get my mum one of these for Christmas! She always has cold feet! I reckon one of these to go with the slanket I gave her last year would do the trick!
