ive finally found purple curtains that i like
so im ikea bound tomorrow afternoon to get them. only thing is i need 3 pairs
as 1 pair for kitchen patio doors, 1 pair for hall windows (only need one on each window) and then i need a curtain for the front door so will have a spare left over, which i suppose is wasteful, but i can ask my mum to be very clever and crafty with the leftover curtain and material so could maybe have matching cushion covers in the front room as well.
i also need to get 3 curtain rods as well, so will be having an expensive day tomorrow, but once its done and dusted then its an expense i wont be having again for years!
buy wind up torch/phone charger - not escential really
curtains for front door

sort out car kit (de-icer, scraper, spare wipers, washer fluid, cash, phone, charger, blanket, shovel & brush)
get gas fire safety checked
tomato soup (i go through buckets of the stuff)
uht milk - buy in bulk from costco, but only had stuff dated dec 11 so will wait another month or 2

Its freezing today and was 10 overnight. I am also sat with my hotwater bottle. My cleaner was laughing at me as she is currently going through the menopause so has her own in-built heater:eek:I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
It's been really warm here today and my washing dried really quickly. Took me my surprise as there was a definate nip in the air this morning and condensation over cars early on. I didn't need any socks on for wandering around the house. My feet are my temperature guage-lols0

for those of you that need to stock up on dog food approved food has some beef and chicken each bag is 4kg and they are just £2.50 each! you do have to pay shipping but i'm sure you can find other stuff on there to make it worth it, just a though. forgot to add: got to love the name, makes me wonder if it gives you dog gas
they def have good things for winter stores on there, i've had 2 large orders recently! i don't have pets but that seemed a good price so i thought i'd let some of you know0 -
OK, this is probably a silly question but we're all double glazed with gas ch. Does having a winter door curtain really make a difference.
Thanks0 -

Thanks
even with double glazing you'll find it's quite cold in the vicinity of the glass. any extra layers you can put between yourself and that cold spot is definitely helpful. many people on here with double glazing (myself included) have reported significant improvement by using fleece or other methods to increase the heaviness of the curtains in front of their windows and/or doors so i'd say yes it's worth it.0 -
Thanks Confuzzled:) Off to look for some winter curtains then.0
