Just found this on the Poundland website
http://www.poundland.co.uk/product-range/a-z/tool-box-led-head-lamp/
Thought it may be useful for a car kit in case anyone has to stick their head under the bonnet and needs both hands free to throttle the car lol
Also at Lidl are these ratchet sets

My husband has a hells game last year trying to tie down the car cover on one of our classic cars (especially windy up here)0 -
I am so envious of all you lucky people that don't have a work commute to do. I have a long commute and its the worst part of winter for me. I like it when I am at home and can just look out at the snowy world.
I have just checked the sell by date on my cat food sachets. Its June 2013, so I wll order a 4 x 48 boxes now and add them to the loft insulation
Loved the pillow up the chimey idea - how clever!0 -
Does it work with roman blinds too (just tacking to the top) or do I need to tack the fleece to every dowel line?
Just tack it to the top it'll work fine.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
where has everyone bought their snow shovels from at this time of year?
I've just got one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silverline-GT30-Square-Mouth-Shovel/dp/B000LFU08Q/ref=pd_rhf_p_t_2 hoping the metal head will help with breaking through any ice under the compacted snow and it's actually lighter than I originally thought!Confuzzled wrote: »we have 5 12packs stackedup in the bathroom plus the opened one... i don't like worrying about not having loo roll either, don't worry you're in good if not a little odd company :rotfl: and yes it's a long standing joke here if we get down to less than 2 twelve packs we may have to panic buy
Good to know I'm not alone!;)I've even got snow tyres ready to swap (my insurance company made me take them off in the spring).
You would need to take them off anyway as once the weather gets warmer it wreaks them so you're better swapping them with a "normal" set as and when needed.
Well, feeling a bit better now:o (although credit card has had a bit of a bashing!). Now have LOADS of loo rolls;).
Found a new store - Discount UK. Managed to get another couple of the camping lanterns (came as £land) for 99p. Now have one for upstairs, one downstairs, one to walk around with (I don't mind the dark and can cope when the streetlights are on but find it a bit creepy when in total darkness) and have also got one for the car (thought about breaking down - everywhere I go is on rural roads and don't fancy sitting for a couple of hours in total darkness waiting for the breakdown service).
Got a 500ml flask from Home B*argains for £3.99 - but also saw a 1 Ltr one at Discount UK for £2.99 (small one is fine for me but the bigger one may be useful for families).Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

SEE! that cozy feeling, warm and lovely knowing your bum is safe from scratchy paper towels or heaven forbid, news paper as you'll not run out of soft loo roll anytime soon.... now that's peace of mind :rotfl:0 -
Cleared a cupboard in the sideboard during my rather early rise :j- which has been filled with the following. If anyone could have a quick look and see if I've missed anything, that would be fantastic! (there is just me!)

My hubby always carries a small torch that fits into his pocket, ideal for tricky steps when theres no street lights, esp at work!
I've got a draw full of batteries, thankfully granny gives us them everytime she buys battery toys (honestly we dont go through that many!!)
Thats reminded me, must stock up on long life candles, much prefer them in winter to the ceiling lights. And romantic too
Been looking at snow suits for DS whos 2... christ they're bit pricey, some on eBay but might try NCT sale in few weeks. Unfortunately have one from DD but it'd swamp him for now, bless!
DD needs new coat, has a lovely one for school but dont want it getting ruined on weekends, already got her waterproof pants and wellies and love the idea of cutting up fleece to make scarfs, what a fantastic idea, she'll love it!
Thankfully I treat myself to a Barbour from the factory shop last year so dont need a coat and I got some industrial gloves for xmas so Im sorted. Might invest in thermals though for all that walking to n from school.
Luckily theres a spar at the end of the road, so dont need much food/grocery stocks although bread was hard to get and I dont have a huge freezer. Mind you, we did put extra milk outside, in the snow! Kept it lovely and frozenDebt at LBM - £11,505Debt 2011 = [STRIKE]8K[/STRIKE] £7760 - DF in July 2013DMP Paddle no. 1 Sealed Pot No. 1375Grocery Challenge Aug £418.31/£450 Sept £ /£4500 -
Has anyone else seen the news about the snow in New Zealand? Some cities seeing their first snow in 40 years!? Will snow make a regular appearance in winter all around the world? Maybe this is a sign of things to come!
Even more reason to prepare for winter I think!0
