    Whats Exactaweather?:o

It is the main place that has correctly predicted the last four winters we have had - reliably and accurately. It is also the place that I have got information on for this forthcoming winter in which James Madden predicts that we are in for a winter this year on par, if not worse than, last year!

Have a read of this from Straspey and Badenoch Herald in which they lead with a story recently about this forthcoming winter in which they have quoted Exactaweather's James Madden.

Worthy of note is this from the Cairngorms Manager:-

"Mr Colin Mathew, the resort’s operations manager concurs with the long-range forecast. The locally famous snowberry bushes in his garden at home a few miles from the ski resort have correctly forecast white winters in recent years. He said: “My trees are currently full of foliage which means that we are in for another white winter".

If anyone needs scarves - Last year I bought a fleece blanket from MrT and cut it into 4 strips and then cut tassles (sp?) on the ends - The girls love them and we have spares for when they get damp from snow :D

Remember fleece doesn't fray so no hemming required :D

Just another thought if you get a chip in your car windscreen get it filled straight away - it won't cost you a bean with the insurance company they do it for free. If that chip stays in place with nothing done to it once the ice and snow comes in it will turn into a rather large crack which not only will illegal to drive with, but it will also be costly for you to pay out on an excess.

Try at all costs to avoid pot holes, because when this weather does get bad, well you think the roads are pants now it will be nothing when those holes turn into large ruddy craters! If it damages your tyres, rims or suspension, photograph the pot hole with a ruler/tape measure showing the depth and width of the hole and put in a claim to the highways department of the County Council, you will need to back it up with a receipt for the repair/replacement.

I need to get my butt in to gear.

Also don't forget we had snow in the early part of December as well as Jan.

So as well as stocking up on food make sure that you have a some extra prescription medications in.

One lot my husband takes has to come from 20 miles away as they will not send the paper prescription to him any more:eek:but will send the filled prescription to our Dr's surgery. For him to collect.

    Yours

How did you freeze the chive butter in small bits? I would like to do the same. Did you use ice cube trays? :)

I used pieces of tin foil & wrapped the pats of butter up. They take less room in the freezer.
