    Hi all.

What is the best method for fixing (temporary) fleeces to the backs of curtains??

I did a quick search and MSE'ers seem to use different methods:
    • Sewing velcro to back of curtains to attach fleece to (not sure if you need to also sew velcro to the fleece itself, or if it sticks itself!).
    • Using pins to simply attach.
    • Sewing the fleece in place..but this is permanent.

    also:
does the bulkiness of the fleece make it tricky to gather the curtains and get them to hang right??
do you just attach the fleece at the top edge, or do you have to attach down each side too?

    THANKS ALL

i'm going to just use an extra lot of hooks and feed them thro the fleece and then onto the tape. no idea yet how it's going to work but at least i got ones in the same colour as the curtains (lucky!!)

re foil blankets (not sure what they look like!): Can I just wrap some foil round cardboard & attach it behind the radiators? I have never made anything like this before. I can easily get cardboard from the local Co-op.

yes you can :D i have this

well i definately don't need any jumpers for winter - A clear out of my cupboard and i can probably wear a new jumper every day for 3 weeks without needing to wash them!

Socks, and thermal tights and long sleeve tops are still on the list, and one more pair of jeans.

Then it's just boots and my wardrobe is set!

It would be nominal and not anything that would notice a difference in the heating costs. The main difference will always be a wel insulated home and windows and good quality thick fabric with a substantial lining. That is where your money and heat insulation lays!

Thanks! I thought that would be the case! Worth asking anyway! I think we're ok on the insulation front etc as its a fairly new house and the landlord seems quite good with the maintanence of it. :T

Thought some of you might like to see this especially the picture of the falling leaves - which allot of us on here have noticed as being a portent of an early Autumn. We will get two good weeks in September then after that it all looks to be downhill form there :(

Ah well, I am going camping on Friday 19th, at least the weather forecast is good on the day, in time for me to set camp properly. It is horrid to have to pitch the tent in the rain. Once the tent is well pitched I shall make the best of whatever the weather brings and cross fingers for the un-pitching!

Going to the Isle of Wight for a week in early September and hope that the Indian Summer weather will treat me well there!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

I managed to get myself a pair of black slouch boots and 2 new shorter length coats on Mr T's online sale.
Got £13.95 0ff in discount, so wasn't too bad considering.
    :D
My long winter coat is still fine and very warm.
