Last year I put my foil backed sun reflectors (for car windows) behind the radiators. Not sure if it made a difference though.

hi Bramble lucky you with all those jumper if i wear 2 at a time then i have to wash every couple of days to be sure they dry before i need them am trying to add to mine

can i ask where you got the thermal tight please i have got thermal long sleeve tops the mens ones are warmer and softer and thermal long leg things but to be honest they are okish if i'm in the house but not very good if it really cold even under jeans so maybe mens thermal bottoms or thermal tights is next on my list i really don't like being cold but won't put heating on if it's just me in house thanks

I get my tights from Primark, i got 1 pair last year and lived in them pretty much, they keep you really toasty and are a good price, I plan to get 3/4 pairs this year - hopefully in different colours to mix up my outfits a bit too!

    - all those jumpers and i'm currently sat wearing one of my OH's :rotfl:

;) Dunno if these work as radiator reflectors but I've just purchased 2 from Poundland to use as "carpet" to insulate the floor of my tent when I go camping in early September. No so much glamping, just a big softie. ;)

The snow shovel has arrived :j

I rubbed down both big gates then painted one of the gates and post - the other gate and post I will do tomorrow as it has taken me two hours to do just one!

Anyway as I was clearing up the City Link driver pulled up right outside and said to me "do you know something that I don't" so I told him and he said he will have a look at Exactaweather tonight. He said "oh flipping hell, if it's bad like last year it was a nightmare".

    Done so far:

    Put up dining room curtains
    Ordered snow shovel
    Got kiddies new wellies
    Got (hopefully) one door curtain

    To do:

    Get second door curtain
Get new curtains for master bedroom, too darn flimsy!
    Get car stuff
    Kids winter woolies
    Salt for driveway
Get warm socks, fleece welly liners weren't enough last year!

Prob lots more but feeling slightly more prepared. Even have snow types all ready to go this year, I'm determined not to get snowed in :)

    hello all!

i was checking out the lidl website and they had these rugs for just £1.49 each, i know someone had mentioned using carpet to gain traction under your tyres so i thought these might be helpful or if you need some extra mats for wet/muddy feet. these go on sale on thursday the 18th

they also have a tarpaulin set and some wiper blades that look inexpensive (i no longer have a car so don't quote me!) here also starting on thursday

also, one i'll be picking up is their 300ml flask for £3.99 (from thurs)

and some silicone sealant for £1.79 for those needing to seal up draughty old windows etc (from thurs)

and if you're wanting to stock up on dog or cat food scroll down to the bottom of that page, those are on sale now!

anyway thought some of these would help with the winter prep. ;)
