I picked up some thermal socks for DS's in the M&S sale only a few weeks ago, am keeping an eye out for snow boots in CS as last year I managed to get DS2 some but all were sold out in DS1's size.
Have some new fleecy blankets in the loft that I picked up in Mr A's earlier this year.
In Primark last week I saw fleecy pjyamas in the ladies section, marked at £3 but went through the till at £2, only small sizes though.0 -
As it's not yet summer in most of the UK, I'll add this to the existing thread just now
I'm sat here in Yorkshire in shorts and a vest top, having spent much of the weekend in the garden :T:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
My winter prep so far ..... I've asked my landlady if we can have our gas fire that was condemned last summer replaced. We had central heating fitted in September so left it thinking we'd be fine, but I missed the warmth of curling up infront of it, plus the number of spiders that kept coming out from under it ...:eek::eek:
I'm hoping we're also going to get a new back door. This one was sticking constantly so she got a man in to come and 'fix' it. Its in even worse of a condition now as its shrunk back and now there's a howling gale blowing through it. So I've just sellotaped over the gap for now as I could feel the draft in the livingroom.
Will have to make my list up about what I want to get done this year. I really really need to source some big curtains for my doors. My current ones have shrunk

Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
A lot of places have money off electric blankets now. The ones we have heats the bed in just 15 minutes.
Cost just a few pence a night to run and very toasty warm.0 -
I'm still wearing my winter primani pjs and have a fire every now and again as I'm still cold in the evenings.0

Wow, I haven't checked in here for a while. Sorry. CH27, I'll be using this link to dry them out.
Beyond that and planning my garden/making arrangements with friends and family to "glut swap" with gluts of either produce or seeds, there hasn't been much done in the way of winter prep. I can freeze whatever gluts I get given.
The only other thing I've been working on is my general fitness so I can cope better with the cold.
