Guy's, can I pick your collective brains about something please?
We've just looked round a house, which we absolutely love and are tempted to pay the holding deposit. We're making a list of pro's and cons and this is the main con. Off the hallway is the kitchen, which has no radiator (or windows) leading off that (through a doorway, with no door) is a small double glazed conservatory, with a plastic roof  which we think we'd use as a dining area
Now, bear in mind this is the only source of natural light for the kitchen, so a door in the doorway wouldn't work as the lights would need to be on all the time. Any ideas what we can do to better insulate this area of the house?
My initial thoughts are bubble wrap the plastic roof, then somehow drape a white cotton sheet/length of material almost like a circus tent. Would this insulate much? How could I attach the sheet to UPVC? A glue gun perhaps?
You guys are so ingenious when it comes to these things- please help me get my dream house!

Did you notice the comment on that page "National Grid posted half yearly figures showing operating profits were up 31 per cent on last year"?
On the same web site there's an article warning that the oil tanker drivers are threatening industrial action. Ballots due next month.
Time to get those supplies in to fill the gaps in our storecupboards, especially beans. On the same site again, the firm that makes 57 varieties has a strike at its 'flagship plant' which seems to have missed the news pages that I read entirely. Apparently the workers want H...z to 'dish up a fair deal'. Will that make 58 varieties? :rotfl:0 -

Well if oil tanker drivers may go on strike that will be really bad for people with oil heating, I think they pay a terrific amount now for their fuel without another hike, its just so unfair, ive never seen heating so expensive as it is right now, ive got gas , but I feel for oil users, the government should step in to stop all of these increases..........:mad:0 -

As Unite members struggle to meet the rises in the cost of living, National Grid chief executive, Steve Holliday, who is said to be “pleased with the operating and financial performance in the first half of the year” will not have that problem as his remuneration package has gone up £67,000 from last year to £2,273,000.0 -

My OH keeps shaking his head and saying 'there'll be rioting in the streets' he may be right...:(The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.

I always wondered why they did that seemed like a daft thing to do, now I know why.
Thanks for the tip.0 -
Where is everyone getting candles and batteries from, having visited Ikea this morning, I cant believe how much candles have increased, and would ideally like to buy more and not break the bank.0
