Oooooh Kittie! Me too... Netweather regional forums are fab altho I don't understand all the jargon, I am enjoying following the threads :D

So, thanks for posting the link to it a few weeks back :T

I am sitting here updating the regional thread and watching raintoday. I am turning into a nerd. I would like to know the jargon and can see that they have some well know weather people on there

Well we weren't due any in North Staffs until tonight but it arrived just as I had finished the school run this morning.

I decided to take the dog out before it got any heavier which of course it did whilst we were out, then the dog started screaming when she went to have a wee.

Had to drive in the thick snow a couple of miles to the vets as she was in pain.

Seems she has cystitis (again), which she seems to get on a regular basis since whe was spayed. Luckily it had stopped snowing whilst we were in the vets and the sun is out now so hopefully it will melt a bit of it.

I know one thing for cystitus is adding white wine vinegar to their water, tried that but I can't get her to drink the water, anyone know of any other tips besides drinking lots of water? She is on antibiotics and metacam for the pain, bless her.

  • blizzard after blizzard here today and of course waitrose didn`t make it. I have looked at netweather for my localfood delivery day next week and it looks like snow all day so we will be having pork chops and peas on christmas day after all. I won`t be defrosting my turkey crown as no visitors will make it either as the village is really inaccessible in snow. Still dh and I have our presents and I bought mine as he has no idea, he doesn`t even know what he `bought` for me because they are both the same. Thankfully they will help pass the time as it looks as though we are going to be dug in for quite a while

We can always have cranberry sauce with pork chops I suppose

Looks like a really quite Christmas for you then Kittie, let's just hope you don't have any power cuts, which part of the UK do you live in?

The temp has really dropped here in the last half hour, the local radio said it will be -8 tonight.

Poor dog :( Barley water is meant to be good for cystitis... Maybe you could soak the barley in hot water then add it to her food.... Also, bicarb of soda I think as it neutralises acid... Not sure about giving it to dogs... I prob would but check first.

Basically the more you can get her to drink, the better... My dogs have always loved a bowl of tea :D So I guess I would have given them bowlful after bowlful to flush the system thru.
