Yey, another weather geek! I drive my friends mad by telling them about the weather all the time :D

I use Metcheck and BBC weather i also use a local one for Northampton that is normally very accurate; Pitsford Weather.

Have looked at positive weather solutions but find them quite hit and miss and also sometimes i use the met office!

See told you i was obsessed:rotfl:

Where are you in the Midlands?

I went to bed with my wheat bag last night for the first time since last winter - I just couldn't get my feet warm after standing at the bonfire. Fireworks were a bit of a disappointment last night - or is it just my warped memory that makes me think they were better last year and lasted longer?

I hate to ask what is probably a silly question but what is a wheat bag?

The past two nights we have had the duvet, a huge quilt, a fleeze blanket and a knitted blanket on the bed, plus a hot water bottle. It has been so cosy!

I'm not into fireworks myself. It's too cold outside!

Just looked at metcheck for where my son stays and later in the week the wind speed says 223mph!!!!!!!

Seriously it looks like the coming week is going to feel very cold!

    :eek::eek:

I use Metcheck website and find it fairly accurate.... which is why i am :eek:.....

We are due heavy sleet tomorrow night

Got a load more free bubble wrap from MrT today :D I will sort the back door tomorrow - its a single glazed wooden door and it gets so cold there. So I have stitched hems to each end of a fleece blanket and will thread net curtain wire thru that and attach it to the door. Behind the blanket will be bubble wrap!

It will just look like a curtain (I hope) but should really keep a lot of heat in.

I wish I could put a proper heavy curtain there but its right next to the cooker so that would be dangerous.

    Keep warm everyone :)

ps - still wondering whether to get those shoe attachments that stop you slippin on snow or ice

    I think everything's getting smaller:

    Fireworks displays are shorter
Pub & restaurant portions are getting smaller
Food packs are being re-designed to hold less product
Compost bags are getting smaller and being sold £3 for £12 instead of 4 for £12
There are fewer apples and oranges in pre-packed bags
And so it goes on .......

It may be our age, but I'm convinced it's the Recession, and that the suppliers and manufacturers think they're fooling us into not noticing.

Mine is a Hot Wotta Bottle, ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hot-Wotta-Bottle-Lilac/dp/B000RL2V8G )its fleece and filled with wheat and you heat it in the mircrowave for 2 mins. My daughters both have teddies that we do this to too. The snuggle down happily with them, tho you can make them yourself easily. http://www.suite101.com/content/wheat-bags-for-warmth-and-comfort-a50086
