It probably wasn't this thread which is about the use of humidfiers to reduce condensation but don't know whether it helps.

You could make some little linen "sausage bags tubes" and try filling them up with waster rentention crystals from a garden centre. These are normally used for mixing in with compost and putting in pots and patio containers to retain moisture and reduce watering but it may be worth experimenting with them to see if they do a similar water retention job sopping up condensation at the base of windsowsills. Try first sprinkling some in a rolled up man's handkerchief perhaps, to see how effective it is.

  • eeek snow.. *scrambles her thoughts in a panic, whats left to do??!!*

Seriously I think we're ok, well make do and mend for another year of winter (still haven't got proper window dressings or rugs but in all rooms hey ho, much better than last winter)

Must tape my bubble wrap to toliet room and top of stairs windows as it's peeling.

My heating is on very low and constant all day (stay at home mum with 2 little ones) and goes off at night so so wheat bags/fleeces/hotwater bottles/slippers/dressing gowns all come out to play. Actually must go check gas meter to see how much we've used. I could be in for a very nasty surprise :(
