I have a question on the passport requirements for this, which I am finding slightly confusing.
I have one of the passports with the symbol on the front which means I can use the facial recognition system when re-entering the UK. My girlfriend does not, but she does have a passport which can be swiped through a machine by the Border official. Is this ok for her to use with ESTA?0 -
Yes provided her passport has chevrons on the details page >>>>>>>>> , which means it is machine readable, then it is fine.0

I understand that it needs to be in the same name as the passport as you need to enter all your passport details.0

I'm hoping to travel to USA in the near future but was arrested a few years ago for shoplifting but returned home before any court date , how can I put right this so I can travel? It's been mentioned I will need a visa but not sure what to do.?:embarasse.0

Arrested where? The US?
Anyways. You go to court, get sentenced, do the sentence. Wait about 6 or 7 years then try to get a visa waiver for the crime that involves moral turpitude.
If you skipped out of the US before a court date, you're ******.
You could try to get a visa, but as they would see you had no respect for the law in the US anyways, chances of getting one are, IMO, zero. Only option would be to see a very good immigration expert.0
