I found using the group application very problematic, it kept not recognizing the group ID. I can't remember how I finally got it sorted in the end, but when they come due for renewal I'll be doing them individually and not bothering with the group thing again.

Thank-you -I think you may have resolved my problem as I tried (Yet!) again and it then told me there was an approved application with my individual details- then same for hubby :D

At least I can get to Los Angeles, (Thank you ITV.com!) now :j

Hi people...I am flying to the US in Nov and hoping to return 2 years later in Oct . Can I wait until Oct this year to apply for the ESTA and make sure it covers my 2nd trip? I don't want to have to pay twice really, but also don't want to risk being too late to apply!

I have applied before with no problems 3 years ago, so my details are on the ESTA database and listed as expired.

The ESTA only has to be valid on the date of entry to the US so you could leave it until the end of October if you feel confident that you will be authorised.

    Hi,

Sorry if this has already been asked.

Hoping someone can help me out here. I have heard that you can be refused entry to the USA because of debt? I applied for an ESTA and have been accepted but have a loan and some credit card debts but nothing major. I have also read that you have to prove your income so they dont think you will try and get a job over there?

I can take a bank statement with me to show i have money to support my 3 week stay and will be taking 2 credit cards for back up it this enough do you think?

    Thank you

Perhaps if you had previously left the US owing money, but not for normal credit card and loan debt in the UK.

Half the people that travel to the US wouldn't be able to go if anyone with a loan was refused entry.

In well over 20 visits to the US, only once was I asked how much money we were bring into the country, but never once did they ask how much I owed on my credit card bill.

I'd read up about "financial solvency" then. They basically won't let you in if you don't have the finances (or someone you are visiting has the finances) to fund your trip.

Doesn't matter if thats on a credit card or other means, but you need to be able to prove you can support yourself.

    ..............

footnote. Saying that I've only ever heard of people being asked if they wanted to stay for a longer than usual period in the states - more than the 2 or 3 week vacation, but its always good to have a credit card with an available credit limit with you.

Oh dear, I have just submitted my husbands application and noticed afterwards that I had put female in the gender box. Do I have to pay again or just cross my fingers that nobody notices?

according to the official site you would need to reapply.

    https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/1088/kw/

Information about your passport- such as the expiration date or passport number, biometric information (your name, date of birth, sex or country of citizenship) is wrong. The only way to correct that type of error is to reapply and pay for new ESTA.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
