You should have charged the child £1.00 from her pocket money and explained how much of a bargain she was getting. It's all about profit margins:D.
Drat, didn't think of that. Is it too late to charge her now!:rotfl:

Just started to read this thread recently and on my first trip to Mr T after that I found a pair of Grandad socks on the shelf.

Thought I would buy them just to see what happened. Price marked £2.50 and scanned at 25p!

I then got home and thought "what am I going to do with these now that I have them" ?

Well, a few minutes later I was visited by one of my neighbours kids who said that she was just waiting for her Grandad to arrive, as it was his birthday. Needless to say I gave her the socks and told her to give them to her Grandad as a pressie!

So now I am 25p poorer! Is this the way it is supposed to work !?!?!?!:rotfl::rotfl:

but so much richer in spirit ;););)

I love giving away my bargains, it really is just as much of a thrill. .....well it is to me, but we are all different, and thats the great thing.

Just thought I'd add that I am extremely poor but and item that cost me 25p or less will not change my life money wise but will give me pleasure giving it away.
As Morledge 142 said richer in spirit and thats what its all about for me.

So true. There is more happiness in giving than receiving!!
I too see no point in having such a stock cupboard for personal gain if I cannot share with others where there is need.

no new 1p items to report despite my best efforts but I did manage to get 3 each of the boxed belts and leather wallets yesterday in the new P@rk Road Store in Liverpool yesterday - they weren't marked down and they must have been found somewhere as I have looked for these a few times now! Gave hubby a belt as he needed one and will put the rest away for xmas stocking fillers. Left a few for any other MSE'rs who may be round my way ;-)
To infinity and beyond - but mostly to Tesco!:D

I gave a heap of the 1p kids cereal bars to someone to take to give to his friends kids because he always felt guilty that he couldn't afford anything to take round for them. The lazy fat bu66er ate them all himself. People like him put me off giving. :(

Holiday, I think that is a nice story. That is what is great about people on this thread.

HappyChappy, that is cheeky, but hilarious!

And Adam....don't let the haters get to you! Post whatever you like! If they don't want to read it, they don't have to.

Yup, I wouldn't mind if he was skint. But he doesn't budget his money properly and spending it on needless random !!!!! takes priority over actually living. His benefits are there to live on, not buy random $h1te. :(
