clairaay - You should have got 5, it might have knocked off the discount it would normally do. One thing it wouldn't do is put the price up.

I was thinking the exact same thing. It would seem that a lot these offers are programmed at a set price e.g. if a tin of pasta costs 50p and the offer is 5 for £2 then the programmer sets the deduction as 50p rather than calculate the price of 5 items, subtract £2 then use the answer as the deduction.

A prime example was Argos when they had design-a-bear stuff on offer. You bought the bear plus outfit plus accessories for £19.99 but it was possible to get it for sub £10 as again, the bears etc were all a standard price so rather than add it all up and make sure it was over the offer price to begin with, someone was lazy and just added a standard reduction. Works in our favour so not complaining!!!

Great find though and I'll be keeping an eye out.

Happy Chappy, I love what you have written on the bottom of your posts.:T This will probably really help as a few times I noticed that your posts were a bit blunt, but I had seen a very earlier post where you had mentioned that you had asperbergers so took no notice.
Big hugs to you as when I saw what you'd written it made me go AAhhhh. :)

Hi all, bargain shopping morning for me at Tesco, got loads of the Mermaid Bay Tuna chunks @ 19p per can, and I found 2 x new 1p items, unfortunately they were out of stock :( but SEL clearly stated 1p, they are:

    Pacific oriental soy sauce 1p
& Pacific oriental sweet chilli sauce 1p

They were in the noodle/rice section next to the thai green curry sauce etc.

I also found some good price cuts:

Food Doctor multi seed pittas 49p down from £1.06
    Trattoria Verdi tomato paste 19p
Tesco Wholewheat Penne Pasta, 44p down from 92p

Also 1p baby cereal bars and 20p glass candles. Plus I used my £5 off £40 voucher from yesterdays Daily Fail. All in all, good shop!

Sure, the candles are RTC in the outdoor/seasonal section, bought a few last week, quality isn't amazing, but they're great for on your patio table at night if you're sitting out with a glass of something lovely!

Tesco glass filled jar multi coloured candle
    Barcode: 5 052004639897

Can anyone find a pic of the chilli sauce or soy, can't find it online and want to know what I'm looking for in case there is any in other sections like world foods which my store often does.
