People are in shock and mourning because a woman died from a self administered drug/alcohol overdose, yet 92 innocent souls lie dead after after a tragic event in Norway. I mean if we are going to go off topic....

    hi adam get well soon

doesn't matter who has died -one life is no more valuable than an another, use it to reflect on your own life and how you are spending or wasting it

Just started to read this thread recently and on my first trip to Mr T after that I found a pair of Grandad socks on the shelf.

Thought I would buy them just to see what happened. Price marked £2.50 and scanned at 25p!

I then got home and thought "what am I going to do with these now that I have them" ?

Well, a few minutes later I was visited by one of my neighbours kids who said that she was just waiting for her Grandad to arrive, as it was his birthday. Needless to say I gave her the socks and told her to give them to her Grandad as a pressie!

So now I am 25p poorer! Is this the way it is supposed to work !?!?!?!:rotfl::rotfl:

    Holiday, you are very generous.

I think we are only supposed to buy what we would usually want/need/use but sometimes we all stray when we see something at a really good price - most of us will find a home for the items.

Hi adammccance. Please don't take offence. Some folk are a little regimented when it comes to what ought to be allowed on particular threads. I understand why you put it on. I was actually utterly gobsmacked and checked whether it was true. All thoughts of penny pinching left my head too at hearing that bombshell.
It would be a very sad thread of folk were afraid of occasionally diverting now and then.
You have contributed very well in the past so shouldn't have been reprimanded so strongly.

Let's all get back to how helpful the thread used to be and start again?

    Wise words JumbleJack.

This and the other Tesco thread have changed beyond recognition. I feel unable to contribute anymore. If I did, and I could keep my post 'on topic' they would simply read "no penny items here".

I really don't want to sound too saccharin but, hey, I miss you guys :(

Just had a look, think it might be this http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=265799610

    That's the one :)

Used to be 60p a packet, now apparently a "new low price" of 34p. It's absolutely lovely, and Mr Buffy keeps grinding his teeth as everytime I go in there I grab a couple more packets - I don't trust Tesco not to put the price back up again :D

Edited to add that despite the teeth grinding Mr Buffy quite happily eats his fair share of the couscous ;)

You should have charged the child £1.00 from her pocket money and explained how much of a bargain she was getting. It's all about profit margins:D.

Thanks buffy. I've added it to the Tesco silly price thread. Hope you don't mind!
