Tesco ought to have an app so you can scan whatever you like with your own phone. If they can do the shopping list app then I'm sure it's possible.
They do have this... but it checks the barcode against the online prices rather than the store prices. And it doesnt always recognise the barcodes. Pretty naff really :rotfl:0 -

2 scanners in sheffield Addeydale rd - one has not been working for months ,has a out of order sticker covering screen - the other one (pet food aisle) kept saying 'contact an assistant ' (or something !) last week but today was totally blank - then noticed it wasnt even plugged in !! wasnt brave enough to move the trolleys from in front and plug it back in though !!
Has anyone spotted scanners at infirmary rd sheffield ??0 -

think they are playing silly beggars - the shop i use the most has two scanners the one in the center of the store has never worked which meant using one away at the opposite side of the store opposite the books etc but i was determined to get the £1.25 socks/boxers so thought i may as well try the one in the center of the store to see if it was working, normally i wouldnt have bothered but back working again. whats the betting none of them are working now i've posted on here!

Just wanted to say that this sounds an amazing idea, and thank you for taking the time to put it together.
I'm afraid my input to this thread is a bit paltry as I only have a Metro in my local town and it's pretty naff tbh (even the most damaged, grubby looking items on the RTC shelves are barely reduced and sit there for weeks)
However, I am relatively new to this thread so watch out I might spot a bargain yetTomorrow i will be checking for scanners in my local store (now I know what I'm looking for ...oh and after I've checked the tea bags
)
