In the R & R days there was a thread that had the locations of the instore scanners. I remember reporting many locations. The scanner in my store was not working the other day. It appeared to be on but just wouldn't scan anything. A quick thought and spotting a switch, off went the unit for a few seconds and then back on again and all was well. They are a computer terminal after all, so a quick reboot sorted it out. Just don't do it in front of a store manager! :)

And here is the thread but it's probably a bit out of date!

Thanks Martini, very helpful information :T

I always do a double take when i read your posts because here in London Perivale Tesco is on the Western Avenue.

Your post proves what I just said about the scanners have they been taken out of action on purpose?

I am also very guilty of this. There's nothing past the Severn Bridge is there? Does the world not end there? :rotfl:

Actually I am a website developer by trade. I have been thinking for a while to put together a website to help us with things such as Price Checker locations, store locations, and to collect together comments about the individual stores. I feel it would be me giving back "my bit" to everyone.

If people think this would be of use, let me know and I will see what I can do in the next week or so...

that would be very kind of you, as said most of us visit same shops and same aisles and never notice where ;ricechks are.

    thankss:beer:

They're handy to use if you are on a limited budget and forget how much the goods are worth in your basket/trolley. Use the calculator on your phone to add everything up, not suggesting you do it with a jam packed trolley but a good reason to scan a few items before deciding if you want them or not ;)

edit - iKennett, yes it's very well hidden lol.

I have to cross it occasionally to get to Bristol airport. I like the fact that it's free to enter England, but you have to pay to get into Wales. :T

Tesco ought to have an app so you can scan whatever you like with your own phone. If they can do the shopping list app then I'm sure it's possible.
