Actually I am a website developer by trade. I have been thinking for a while to put together a website to help us with things such as Price Checker locations, store locations, and to collect together comments about the individual stores. I feel it would be me giving back "my bit" to everyone.

If people think this would be of use, let me know and I will see what I can do in the next week or so...

    Dooooooo it!!! Please :D

Think its a brilliant idea and I fully intend on contributing to it ;)

Don't worry too much about lurking, I lurked for few years with a different user name before I was brave enough to post!!!!! I was a bit scared because in the past I've posted on other forums, not MSE and it was so clicky it put me off. I think people get the hump with people that lurk, purely to get the info as quickly as possible, which I think is what happened with the 1p spreadsheet. When you read it properly like you do and most of us do it's a great feeling to find a glitch and be able to share it. When I found one I was desperate to post it:rotfl::rotfl:You will eventually find one:T Their are so many tips on this thread and I think that's why we are finding more glitches as more of us are learning what to look for:T
thanks as i find it quite scary to write something and im not that great on the computer still learning at 49 im getting better i do lurk but i have tried to find 1p bargains but dont seem to get any and im too embarressed to go to self scanners incase sa says something but when i find one will definitely let you all know:T

The one in Talbot Green, Llantrisant is on the ground floor near the car products. Haven't noticed one in Upper Boat but I've never looked - HTH

In the R & R days there was a thread that had the locations of the instore scanners. I remember reporting many locations. The scanner in my store was not working the other day. It appeared to be on but just wouldn't scan anything. A quick thought and spotting a switch, off went the unit for a few seconds and then back on again and all was well. They are a computer terminal after all, so a quick reboot sorted it out. Just don't do it in front of a store manager! :)

And here is the thread but it's probably a bit out of date!

Thanks for the reboot tip ;) I had seen that thread before but the location for my local is wrong so think it may be outdated now :)

I think thats a super idea! On my next tour of South Wales Tescos I will make a note where each one is in each store and if they are working or not :T
Western Avenue has two! one in the clothing section, by the mens jeans and one in bedding!

Neither of them has ever been working when I've tried though :(

I found one in Pengham green on saturday, maybe 5th isle up on your right hand side as you enter (poss gardening?) and guess what? That one didn't work either. I have never found a working scanner.

Reading through here and my own recent experiences it seems that most stores have price scanners which aren't working or they only have one well hidden one. Is this on purpose because Tesco's make so many mistakes or just don't want us spotting glitches and taking advantage?

Our local Netto's sadly both now departed had fully working price scanners & strangely enough in all the time we shopped there, we were always charged the correct price never over, never under.
