Thanks, will gladly name the store but will have to wait until DD finishes lectures for the day as I have no idea which store it was.
If it had happened to me I would probably have reacted the same way, but when it comes to my DD, who is away from home for the first time in a strange place and has a lot of changes to come to terms with, I have a massive primal desire to "Kick A**"" If cats could speak they would lie! "0 -
Just got back from Carmarthen Tesco and met a nice lady who had recieved the email this morning and printed off the list and then beat me to the Stig socks which I had been looking for all week but were hidden at the end of aisle! No other 1p bargains to report but then I didnt find any there yesterday! Spoke to a friend who works there and is genuine and she had not heard anything from HO about these 1p bargains but they do currently return them which she herself said is stupid and they were considering changing store policy to donate them to a local charity! She said always use a self scan till and did admit there had been loadsa 1p items in clothing the last week but staff had been set the mission of finding them!!!:xmassmile**New** Thrifty Gifty Money Making for Christmas and all occasions 2012**:xmassmileMember No. 11 of Happy Chappy's Clip Strip Club!

Not the 1p hunt, but might be worth checking the blue or green crates at the end of the ailses for some soups (cup a soups, cup a noodles etc).
I just purchased a couple of boxes of cup a soups (4 pack) for 6p
The pot noodle cup a soup sachets ( some 6p and some 3p!!!!)
The Loyd Grossman microwavable big sachet things for 6p too.
they had the cup a soups with pasta for 6p
Ainsley harriot noxes of cup a soups for 6p.
I then splashed out on a big sachet of knorr soup at 25p
These are reduced with the yellow labels so shouldn't cause any trouble.
The dates are good on them too, most the dates were december 2010, some were april 2012?
Anyway I am sorted for the winter now0 -
This astounds me, with tesco saying that these 1p items shouldn't be sold and should be refused to be sold at the till.
Can someone explain why in my local why the recent coffee, head and shoulders, garden ties and chocolate all had yellow 1p SELS! and obviously no stock! The coffee SEL had "was £3.18 now 1p"
If it's not to be sold then why have my store still got the 1p SEL up for the coffee and the little red lable alongside it which they put up when something is out of stock?0 -

But then again, probably not.0 -
Have just taken an hour off work to get the bargains but not a single one in the Swindon store. Tried every product on the list and nothing was even reduced let alone at 1p.
What a complete waste of time. Not sure I believe this site any morehad a look at all listed but none in the store i went to ...0 -
For those of you being negative about this going in Martins email from Martins website:
Did you know 1p bargains existed before you found this thread? How? Did you find one yourself out of the blue and so you price scanned every item in your local tesco just in case there were more 1p bargains?
Or did someone tell you what to look for or where to look?
This same arguement has been going on for years on MSE - you want bargains for you, but you don't want everyone knowing about them. Fine. Don't read MSE - why should other people let you know about deals?
Incidentally, Tesco have read MSE for years, you'd be crazy to think otherwise. Do you think they care if 1 person buys 20 x 1p items or 20 people buy one each? I think they'd probably prefer the 20 people going in as it means they'll all pick up a few extra bits as they hunt for their 1p bargains - the publicity on the email is good for business.
And for you, is life going to collapse if you don't get 10 bags of coffee at 1p? Would you have bought a new umbrella if it hadn't been 1p? Thought not.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Be brave guys there are still 1p items out there - just got 7 lots of socks (the stripey ones as posted earlier) from my store - bit nerve racking at the tills though as you feel like your being watched now!
And at the end of the day we should just be grateful for what we do get - i've gained so much from MSE esp in the last year including a trip to the world cup in South Africa thanks to a comp posted on here.A home is not a home ..... without a dog0 -
