  • Spot on Moonshine. It's all very well suggesting that everyone should share but these offers are not sustainable for 'everyone'. The coupon policy was another, as mentioned earlier... Tesco let us use coupons for stuff not bought. They let it go as it was a relatively small number of people doing it despite mentioning it here and on PTS for years.

Martin mentions it in his email and suddenly everyone wants to do it. Next thing it's stopped.

There's some for most of us hundreds or thousands who take time to find them. There's not enough for the millions who Martin throws the info at. It does annoy me - we read up, research, post, share... It's like a club but it is open to all. It's open to anyone who wants to cone in. Then Martin shouts 'cooooey look what thus club has got' next thing thousands descend like a pack of locusts and it's ruined for everyone. I don't know why we bother to say it though because Martin just doesn't 'get' why we are so fed up with him.
  • Just back from Tesco and the only 1p item I managed to find was the shampoo. There were loads on the shelf.
  • Just been to my local Tesco Extra most of the items were not on the shelf, However I did find a couple of the cupbonkie games, but they were taken out of my trolley & I was told I could not buy them & to not bother to look for any more 1p bargins or I would be frown out!!!
  • I suggest all you money savers get yourself off to a car boot sale near you where you will find marked down (by hundreds of percentage points) items from Tescos, sainsbury's, Monsoon, Gap and loads of other highstreet names, all at under a pound and no one will try and stop you purchasing any of it! :rotfl:

I think that Mr T is wise to this thread I was only interested in the cupbonkie games as I know my DS wanted one. had a look for socks as great stocking fillers for christmas but nothing also no H&S shampoo, no After 8s also think the shop assistants were checking around for any of the 1p bargains.

They have a special offer on HP printer ink today..... WAS £35.99 now £35.98............. you save........ 1p.

I was nearly trampled in the stampede to save a fraction of a percent

If you want HP printer cartridges you will not get them any cheaper than at 7dayshop.com. Asda and Tescos price them around the £15 mark. They are selling at around £8. Also they are Channel Islands based so no vat.

But surely the reason this site exists is because of Martin Lewis. I think the powers that be at Tesco were already on to us, so if Martin emailing it let's even a few other's get some deals, then I can only see that as a good thing. I looked on it as a bit of fun and well done to everyone that managed to save themselves some money. It's not as tho the things that were 1p were things most people would buy every week anyhow so most people were happy to get one or two things. I personally only got 2 of the coffee for my dad but I did enjoy searching for bargains and dodging the eagle eyed assistants!

you'll always get what you've always gotten
  • Something was going on in my local just now. There were several tannoy announcements for all managers to go to dot com. Not sure what that means but we can probably guess.

This site only exists because of a. Martin Lewis and b. The members. Yes all those who receive the email are members but the vast majority don't log on often or at all and don't share - they take but don't give. Sure there are members who lurk here and PTS too but at least they seek out the bargains.

I might well post if I see a glitch or misprice on here, I certainly wouldn't email it to millions. You are missing the point and looking at it simplistically.

These things only survive by being low key and low knowledge base. And yes I know I suggested earlier someone go to the papers - that was just borne out of frustration. With hindsight that wasn't really good advice. I'd just like to see Tesco publically shamed regularly for their appauling customer service!
