If you want HP printer cartridges you will not get them any cheaper than at 7dayshop.com. Asda and Tescos price them around the £15 mark. They are selling at around £8. Also they are Channel Islands based so no vat.[/QUOTE]0

These hidden bargains are not marked as 1p on the shelves, but scan at 1p when you get to the tills.
The easiest way to check is to beep the barcodes on Tesco’s price-scan machines. Yet these are only available at certain stores, so the alternative’s to swipe the bits at the self-service checkouts or the till (if it's not 1p and you don't want it, just cancel).
I got pounced on by a CS supervisor lady for doing this & told off! I shouldn't use self-service tills for price checks apparently, and when I told her some items were just 1p she got in a right strop and said it shouldn't be happening, which till did we use, shouldn't scan etc etc etc etc so beware chaps! (my sis got some 1p kids socks though)
edited to add - this was 2 weeks ago!0 -
We spot a glitch, pile in, the store spots us and tightens up its lax practices - we're helping them improve their systems and service. Consultants get paid vast fees for just this.
Consumer revenge (IMHO) includes making the store look idiotic, as Tesco does today, by making lax practices that the company can't even be bothered to sort out into national news.
What's not on, I reckon, is treating legitimate customers like criminals. They can make huge profits out of us, but we can't grab a bargain when it's going? I'd like to see Martin's e-mail clarify our rights and options - as previous posters have done on this thread - so people can respond if they're treated unfairly / aggressively by staff during perfectly legal shopping activity.0 -
Bye bye 1p bargians...just back from local and none to find. Less tills were open as most of the staff are going around with scanners. Every aisle I went down re the 1p posts there was a member of staff.
oh well till next time>>> any missprices out there as have never had dtd?
Well, you should all think yourselves lucky. My store is closed for alterations, including deliveries.0 -
Thanks a bunch Martin Lewis, thats another fine money saving glitch you've brought the curtain down on. One day you'll learn the art of knowing when to say NOTHING instead of letting your ego get in the way.0

Hi thanks to supersally for the tote brolly description, i got one prices at £7.50, got it for 1p!!! Fab thanks. Unfortunately seemed to be the only one in the store (Wishaw).
It was the only 1p item i found, similar to lost of other posts the staff were going round scanning loads of items and looking at me very suspiciously as i scanned the various brolly's to get the 1p bargain!0 -
My DD (who lives near Birmingham) scanned a top she had picked up on the sale rail but had not been marked down on the price checker earlier this moning and three assistants appeared from no-where on hearing the scanner beep! they told her that people "like her" had been scanning items in order to "steal them for 1p each". They made my daughter feel like a criminal, she was genuinely trying to find the price of a top she liked and had no idea that any items had been scanning at 1p - I only wish I had been with her at the time but she lives over 200 miles away from me whilst at uni.
Why do some Tesco staff have to be so nasty (I know there are exceptions so please dont rain on my rant) but the vast majority seem to enjoy trying to humiliate customers, taking any "bargain hunting" on our behalf as a direct attack upon themselves personally!.
I have been lucky enough to get a few of the 1p items of kids clothing this week, which are going out to an orphanage in Luxor just in time for a christmas treat for the children who live there, but I spend between £50 and £100 per week in Tesco, not including fuel.
Today was the last straw, my daughter was humiliated by assistant bullying and left the store in tears.
I will be doing all my shopping at Asda from now on - I know this will not directly affect Tesco's huge profit margin, but it makes me feel a whole lot better!!!" If cats could speak they would lie! "0 -
Care to name the store? I fancy having some fun today0
