I too placed an order 9th decmeber 2010, just the same pay by BACs, which I did stupidly. Same messages promising delivery etc so I started to check and read this forum. I spoke to the accountants and spoke to John on both mobile numbers via text and verbally. Advised I would proceed against him as I felt it was fraud which he quickly stated they were not. However since there was no further signs of refund or delivery I did report to the Action Fraud service 26/1/2011, who confirmed various contacts regarding Utopia. I couldn't believe it the next day, with no covering letter I did receive a check for the full amount and it did clear. I believe although wrong, they are probably taking orders getting the money and then bulk buying to get the reduced costs!

So there is hope on refunds. sorry for not registering and posting sooner!

But hey I tried to order again from Dixons yesterday and I am having problems with their online system and waiting contact from them. I don't think I'm destined to get my handheld dyson :mad:

Well I've sent several more emails and a letter to this idiot, he has until Friday to respond, if he fails to do so I will complete the papers I have to start a claim through the courts. At the end of the day this could end up costing him more - I will be applying for an award for costs to be considered.

will someone please give us the mobile numbers you have so we can all attempt to get either a refund or vac....i have reported them to action fraud .co.uk and like consumer protection they are all aware of this scam but still nothing is being done to stop it i did get a crime ref though dont know if it will help...i cannot just let this go i cant afford to

I had an e mail from Sussex Trading Standards today saying they spoke to him yesterday and he hopes to issue all refunds before Friday 25/3. I came home from work and my refund is here. I will bank the cheque tomorrow and post when it clears:undecided

i ordered a handheld dyson on 12 12 10 see my previous posts,and i have just received cheque for full amount i hope its not made of rubber,a big thank you to all who have given advice.

I also received a cheque, for £214 yesterday. I paid it in but won't hold my breath until it clears! I am still out of pocket for small claims court costs, so will still be pressing for that. I also had a call from Hayley at Sussex Trading Standards, she is working with Anthony Ensinger and hopes he will pay out everyone he owes money to by the 25th as previously posted.
I will be so relieved if the cheque clears. Also learned a valuable lesson not to trust anyone!

Well this is good news, but its not over till the fat lady sings...........
It doesn't stack up really, unless Ensinger is just rather naive. I do though suspect a lot of punters who aren't too clued up on this blog, may not get their money back - not sure if Trading Standards etc have the authority to dig into bank accounts and internet records.

Having been mucked around by Utopia since early December and about to launch a claim through the small claims court, Hayley from Suffolk Trading Standards advised me at the start of the week to wait a few more days as she was sorting though the refunds with John Ensigner, in particular those who'd been waiting the longest.

Well, I have just got home from the hospital after my wife gave birth to our second daughter this evening and astonishingly I find a cheque from Utopia in my post box, so two little miracles in one day!

Although like most of you have said, I'll best put the champaign on ice until the cheque clears....

On 09/12/2010 I entered inbto a contract for Order Number O-18.. Dyson DC31 Animal Handheld cleaner.

Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 I would like to cancel the contract. i require reimbursement of all monies paid within 30 days.
