So what of the current crop of complainants who seem to have ordered in Nov/Dec? Well their Dysons have probably been supplied to other complaining customers and will have to wait for the next batch of stock to be available.
As Vikingaero says - its seems as those of us that may be identifiable through this forum are the ones who got our dysons or refunds. I know I'm not identifiable through my ID, but did let them know in my emails that I had seen this forum and was following, and also copied and pasted the distance trading stuff - also always sent to the 3 email addresses I had. Once I had the promise of the refund the cheque arrived with in the week. So those of you still waiting [EMAIL="DON@T"]DON'T[/EMAIL] GIVE UP - just keep on at them.

Not a bad little scam.
Out of 20 people who fall for the "money transfer" gag, only about 2 or 3 manage to find MSE and kick up a stink.
Use the money from those 20 people to pop into Argos and buy a few Dysons, then post them off to the 2 or 3 trouble makers.
Still a healthy profit from those who simply give up.0 -
Like may other people here - had the same problem with ordering the Dyson DC31 which has never shown up!! Have reported them to Trading Standards.

The Dyson DC25 I ordered on 3rd January 2011 hasn't turned up yet either, and after countless emails (two holding replies) and a few phone calls (no response) my patience has warn thin.
Do not buy from this company.
I have just reported Office Utopia to the Consumer Direct 'report a scam' section, and would encourage everyone else to as well. These reports then get passed on to Trading Standards etc. The more people who report them, the more likely it is that they will be investigated and shut down.0 -
Hi I totally agree if everyone bombards Consumer direct they have to do something about them I was a lucky one and didnt get caught but hundreds of people are being ripped off .... G/L everyone0

My experienceis much the same as other people's.
If you cancel the order and don't get requested refund. Speak to Consumer Direct. Their advice : Write by recorded delivery to Consortium 'to whom it may concern'; confirm cancellation; request refund; quoting Consumer Protection - Distance Selling Regulations 2000. If he fails to make the refund apply to the Small Claims Court if you have spent over £100.

My story is the same as others posted here, order for a DC31 Animal placed mid December, stupidly paid by bank transfer when asked then heard/recieved nothing. Started calling Utopia early January to answerphone/mailbox full, messages left on answerphone but no response (one call was answered directly). Emailed a number of times with only one limited response. Last week I emailed requesting a refund, again no response. I was going to be passing through the Bury St. Edmunds area during the latter part of this week and had decided I would call into Utopia's listed address. I communicated my intention to Utopia late Monday evening by email, a response was recieved early Tuesday Morning informing me my refund was in the first class post, refund cheque recieved Wednesday. Don't think they liked the idea of visitors!
As long as the cheque clears I believe I have had a lucky escape. Good luck to others in this position and don't give up.
I was surprised to see Utopia top of Google listings when searching for other Dyson stockists. Wonder how many more people will be been duped by them?0 -

I also encourage as many as possible to report these guys to your local Trading Standards - look what happened to the Dorset Lapland saga today, the gentlemen have been found guilty - and it was the weight of reports to Trading Standards that started the ball rolling.0 -

When I first got caught by this I checked up with Dyson and Amazon (where I think I saw Utopia first at the bottom as a sponsered link - but I may be wrong - you know how it is when you are shopping round!!)
Dyson said they had never heard of Utopia.
Amazon said they were aware that some of their sponsered links left something to be desired and were in the process of doing something about it.
I am in the refund/notice process and about to kick off the court action shortly which they will find more costly than a timely refund - that part I will enjoy - a good bailiff can easily find this sort of money plus costs0
