OK, they also seem to make some quite expensive beds (yes I know that doesn't necessarily mean high quality!) - I'm wondering if they're a bit of a trade secret that hotels/companies/trade buy but consumers dont, only because that's their key market.

God, I really hate all this 'smoke & mirrors' thing with mattresses - loads sound and feel about the same, but could be rubbish in a year or 2, and the even the more expensive ones aren't always worth it. I just want some decent singles for the kids without spending loads ie below £140 each.
Tim - any brand recommendations for open coil? - Silentnight?

I have bought mattress on !!!!!! because of the promises to find a suitable mattress for me or give me full refund. While it is really hard when it goes wrong. I sent money for La ROMANTICA, Vienna 2 Sided Talalay Latex Foam and Pocket Sprung Double Mattress recommended by !!!!!! on 1/10/2010. I received the mattress on 3/11/2010 after all. I thought it may be the mattress that worths my waiting. However, I felt back pain on that mattress and couldn't sleep well on this mattress. I think that it seems too hard for me although the support is enought. I contacted with !!!!!! and ask for the alternative mattress or full refund.
It is a battle to communicate with the saleman. At first, he asked to try the mattress on shop and told him the mode, brand, structure etc. I tired and forwarded that information to him. He said that those mattresses may not the right mattresses since I do not really sleep on that for several nights. he said that it could be the slope on the floor of my bedroom or my back problem. I told him that there is no slope on my bedroom floor and I didn't have sleep problem on the previous landlore's mattress and mattresses back to China. He blamed me that I shouldn't hold that information. I told him that he should ask if he thought that there have some essential information missed. I also explained that the landlore's mattress was memeory foam mattress and the ergoflex is also memory foam. I didn't want to confused him. The chinese mattress has different standard and there is no detail structure of mattress on web pages for these mattress and the salemen don't know either. I am a customer and not in the mattress field. I don't know how to find such information. I also send the landlore's mattress link to him and he said that La ROMANTICA, Vienna is more supportive than that mattress. He thought that it was not support mattress for my complain: "When we lie down on our backs, it is easy to slide our hand under the small of our backs, and shoulders, backs and waists are getting uncomfortable after a while.” I told him that the mattress seems too firm but not the support promblem. He seems that he don't get it. He said:
"If you are refusing to help me find a suitable alternative, then you aren’t complying with our terms and conditions for our satisfaction guarantee.", ......,"You have said that all the mattresses you sleep on when in China are suitable. So I have made a simple request to find out the basic construction of those mattresses. So I can’t see why you are refusing to do this??? How can I help you if you won’t communicate?",
I already try my best to send information to him and search internet for the chinese mattress's structure, but he think there is no useful information in that. What I should do to secure my right? After all, I have paid 660 pounds for the mattress and the delivery fee. It is kind of small fortune for me.

The reason it comes up with !!! instead of the name is because its a banned website on mse for some reason.

So sorry that this has happened to you too and well done for posting your experience. Many people have experienced the same conditions as you from this same company.

I am sure there will be some more experienced posters will come along and who will let you know what your legal standings are, in your attempt to get your money back.

Tim has been posting on here for 4 years with nothing but helpful and knowledgable advice...why the sudden conspiracy to oust him and post inflammatory and highly opinionated comments about him and his business??? He spent a good 2/3 months guiding me through my last mattress purchase, answering my questions impartially via PM, and even though he got no sale from it he was always willing to help/advise.

Let's stop the witch hunt, and let people get the useful advice they need to help them avoid unnecessary and costly mistakes.
