    Oh and speaking of Christmas...I was tempted to partake in some Argos toy bargains but then realised I could 90% of the things we wanted cheaper off eBay, so I'm now starting to collect a few bits. Going to get a few electronic/Vtech type toys and then come classics like wooden blocks and stacking cups. Not sure what the budget is, because we kinda have to buy twice as much stuff as everyone else ;);). Possibly around £30 all in, I'm thinking? Possibly less if I can get some steals! Might scrounge the charity shops, too.

    Haven't a clue what to get DH!!

    Hi everyone, just catching up - please can you not talk so much after 3pm? :)
    Before I forget;
    Gill - sending hugs, I always struggle doing bathtime on my own.
    Welcome to Ethelsmum and Sir Monster.
    Tara - congrats for Ben
    ooops... forgetting things already....
    I found what little support with bfing there was when I had A absolutely laughable - I felt bullied, without really getting any constructive advice; it really badly dented my confidence and made me really depressed.

    Morning all, i am so tired, i am feting sick of being the on,y one who gets up in the night with e, i know we can't help it reallycos oh has work, but it's reallydraining, and it's not that long till I am back to work myself

    Kindof - I get this too. I don't want to make an issue of it as DH has got to get up to go to work, but I still find it really hard.

    In BIG news here, I got a phone call about half an hour ago and the offer we put in on the house was accepted!!!
    ;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)

    Not understanding? Please explain :)

    Your DH seems to be a lot like my DH in his interests and stuff. I got mine a WWII map from the book website that had the code a few weeks ago and a few other books, plus a laser from deal extreme (very handy for amusing the baby, but get one of the more expensive ones because they come in a nice box) a bottle of nice whisky and some shaving stuff. You could also get him a driving type experience or tickets to Go Ape?

    Budgets? I wonder if Charlie would like a trike, there's one in the Argos 3 for 2, I think, and it would save him thinking he's invincible and hopping on a biggun's bike.

  • Oh yes, and absolutely hectic morning here. A woke up complaining that she had a sore throat and chest and didn't feel well. Ended up with her on sofa with a blanket, watching telly. So I rang the school to let them know that she wouldn't be in. At 8.40am (school starts at 8.50am), she announces that she feels better and wants to go to school. None of us were dressed, so i had to get everyone dressed, make her lunch and get her to school (which is normally a 15 minute drive). Somehow I got her there for 9am - no idea how! Talk about stressful -grr!

  • Morning all, really interesting hearing views on bfing. Although he feeds often I think I am lucky re Thomas as he fed well an hour after the c/section in the recovery room but because of low blood sugars had to have top up feeds from a bottle which he took but went back well to bfing. The postnatal ward were OK re support but were just too busy really and I was trying to express on the ward and they had one pump, which was always being used. The SCBU were really encouraging of bfing, they had two pumps in a room and encouraging mums (and supported them) to bf, with screens in the unit - he has continued to take booby and bottle which I know can be an issue. Like some of you say no worries re the odd formula feed as does give me a break every so often!

    Slept quite well last night despite the 2 hour demands, at the six feed (after two in the night!) I fed him in bed and we both must have fallen asleep as next thing I knew was 7:30 and DH was getting up for work - does worry me that I could have fallen on him. The next feed at about 8 I fed him in bed again and we both went to sleep for about an hour, I think both Thomas and I slept better together than apart.
    Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces
