Sorry for posting sad news yesterday. I was being selfish and only posted it because I wanted a bit of support and just ended up getting more upset because I was ignored.
:grouphug: I'm sorry you felt ignored when you were upset. I read the post I presume you are referring to this morning and just thanked it because I didn't really know what to say and didn't want to end up saying something which made you feel worse.

:grouphug:Becles:grouphug:! Sorry sometimes we're all a bit crap at responding to posts that need it the most. FWIW, it's never selfish to post sad news or if you're feeling low. I post about myself all the time :o. Sounds like you had a rough day yesterday, hope today is better.

Sorry GISI and Kindof but serial bad sleeper David has had another good night :j. Just the 1 wake up for a feed :j although he did insist on getting up at 5 *yawn*. The positive side of that is he has already been sleeping for his nap for over an hour :D. The negative of that is that I have to go to the GP's for an injection this morning and I am still in my dressing gown and my make up is in the nursery

  • Good morning all,

Well another BOB night of sleep- up at 1:30, 3:30, 5:30 and then up and awake at 6:15am. Shes just fell asleep on the sofa next to me though so I will be taking her upstairs so we can have a sleep. However, DH did his best last night- he ran me a bath with candles/romantic music and then pulled out a film he got from blockbuster so was a lovely relaxing evening.

Thats lovely about the yoga MFD. :) Some nice quality time.

    Yay for smiles becky!

And Kitkat, just about winding... have you asked your HV to come over and show you different ways of winding? My SIL works in SCBU and has shown me different ways (which work much better with A) as they have to be careful with the newborns. The best technique I found is sitting her on my knee with her legs inbetween my knees and then making big circles with her top half. I do 5 one way, then 5 the other . I can actually hear the bubbles in her tummy if I rock her back and forth, so you know when she has got rid of all the air.

Just to let you know that the fairies still have some items left. Just PM me if you fancy anything.

I hope you have a lovely weekend. I'm sure your Mum will think T has changed so much!

I am unfairly  at DH.He is on nights so has come home and gone straight to bed, even though I am exhausted and have to go work later until 9pm. I know it is only fair that he gets some sleep, but as he slept all day yesterday too it would have been nice if he's offered me a nap first.

    Morning ladies

Becles - sorry you felt ignored. I was having a bad/stressful evening and had a full day to catch up with. I read your posts and felt sad for you though

My boss rang last night but didn't get her message until 7 when I was taking T up for his bath (which he screamed hyterically throughout) so I couldn't ring her back. I think it's about my flexible working. Totally added to my stress coz she sounded serious, altho I know that doesn't really tell me anything.

oooh just successfully transferred a sleeping T to his car seat so gonna grab a shower and get dressed!

Can someone please offer me some baby bottle advice please... A lovely family member gave baby Theo some boots vouchers as a gift, one of them we wana use for new bottles (the bigger size ones) as I need to pick up some bits from there soon I thought I would get the bottles sorted. So far we have been using TT CTN bottles, I was going to buy the TT anti colic bottles but the reviews are a bit mixed, however the Dr Brown bottles have really good reviews. I thought about maybe buying one and trying Theo with it, does anyone have any experience of Dr Browns with a typically windy baby? Is it okay to change types of bottles/ teats with such a young baby?

I am not sure but OH seems keen to try something as Theo hangs onto his burps, help please!!!

We use the TT CTN Anti Colic bottles without any problems - what are the mixed reviews? EA uses them too.

Try laying him flat and then raising him to sitting very slowly - it seems to get the air bubbling up and usually ended in a burp for us. Also Infacol makes the air bubbles gather together so there are few burps if that makes sense. You can double dose infacol if you need to.

Michelle - here's a thought...I've read that if the morning nap is too early, the baby will get up earlier. It needs a proper break between the 2 sleeps or else the body will kinda look at the morning nap as a continuation of the night. Might be worth trying to push her to stay up a wee bit in the mornings so she goes down a bit later. Hard when she's so young though :(.

GISI, I'd be annoyed too, but I'm very grumpy when I don't get my sleep. Even an hour up wouldn't have hurt him - he could've grabbed brekkie or something in that time while you had a quick nap. Must be really hard having a DH on nights :(.

Beenie, hope you're feeling better soon.

  • Morning All - skim read back took ages. yeah for smiles and hugs where required.

Remembered Michelles post as I'm in simliar position week 14 of BF and I've done all the night feeds. Ava has only slept through once and of course it was the night when my elder daughter was up for 2 hours with a pain in the tummy. OH can sleep through a riot so by the time I rouse him I'm fully awake. The lure of weaning is very tempting but I shall resist......12 weeks to go. Any poo explosions during the night are definatel ohs job though.
