Michelle - here's a thought...I've read that if the morning nap is too early, the baby will get up earlier. It needs a proper break between the 2 sleeps or else the body will kinda look at the morning nap as a continuation of the night. Might be worth trying to push her to stay up a wee bit in the mornings so she goes down a bit later. Hard when she's so young though :(.

GISI, I'd be annoyed too, but I'm very grumpy when I don't get my sleep. Even an hour up wouldn't have hurt him - he could've grabbed brekkie or something in that time while you had a quick nap. Must be really hard having a DH on nights :(.

Beenie, hope you're feeling better soon.

Howfar apart do they need to be? Like e got up at 7 and then had a nap from 9.00 till 9.30

For those BF'ing just wanted to say it does get easier. OH has never done a feed at all and T is 27 weeks, though this is my choice (we did once try her on EBM but she wont take it if Im about and I dont go anywhere). We still get up about 3/4 times a night but I find co sleeping/feeding lying down is a great lifesaver.

CAFC - meant to say yeay for organising SS :D I like the idea of £5 for mum and £5 for bubs too, but then thats easy for me to say I only have one LO.

    Evening all

Regarding secret santa.. how about if its £10, what about £5 for a mummy gift and the other £5 for a baby gift. I suppose it might get complicated if you have more than one child.. but its an idea (please say if this is stupid my brain is mush tonight!)

CAFC... please can you add me to the list for secret santa :) I love the idea of it, and how organised are you!? I'm very impressed!

Cant remember who posted the pic of the baby tights but I love them!! I so want some for Theo!!

    Added you on hun

No problem, can you pm me your address so i can add it on
We use the TT CTN Anti Colic bottles without any problems - what are the mixed reviews? EA uses them too.

Try laying him flat and then raising him to sitting very slowly - it seems to get the air bubbling up and usually ended in a burp for us. Also Infacol makes the air bubbles gather together so there are few burps if that makes sense. You can double dose infacol if you need to.

We use them too. Never had any probs with them.
When Landen was a fresh 'un, i found sometimes we were trying to wind him too quickly. so we'd sit him up for a few minutes and then start. Rubbing his back clockwise works best for us now, but when he was new, it was over the shoulder.... HTH xx

ok following feedback, it'll be kept mums and bubs. its up to you how u split it, if its equal spend, joint pressie etc (may be easier for multiples), freebies are welcome, homemade/handmade is greatly appreciated.......

its freezing here today, was going to go into town but decided against it. had a weird night, i couldnt slep and then L woke up at 3am, so fed him and put him back to bed. i still couldnt sleep, DH got up with him at half 6, and i managed an hour..... but still feel blah....

It is indeed grotty weather all around. I was loving the thunder and lightning at 3.30am though, it was pretty.

Som, my OH hasn't done a feed either, for the same reasons as you. Madam doesn't accept 'imitations' and gives you the most filthy look if you dare try and give her a dummy - much prefers ramming her fist in her mouth.

Any lovely ladies have tips on how to take a decent picture of a baby? As soon as madam sees the camera, that's it, she starts pulling weird faces (bit like me and her daddy though, so to be expected really) I really, really want one of her smiling, but she ain't having it :rotfl:

I can actually hear the bubbles in her tummy if I rock her back and forth, so you know when she has got rid of all the air.

I'd forgotten about that - being able to hear the bubbles moving aruond. It is funny what you forget! I used to bouncy Izzy on my knee to get them out, but she a) had a very strong neck (even when she was born I didn't really have to support her head very much) and b) was hardly ever sick. I know that option won't work for everyone ;) The other thing I did which no-one (I think) has mentined was lie to her accross my legs, face down, so her tummy was across my legs, then rub/put her back and kind of bounce my knees gently at the same time. I also discovered (by accident) that if she needed to parp and I pick her up with my arm across her tummy, so her weight was mostly on her tummy, that normally helped :rotfl:.

I'm just back from the doctors. I have decided that seeing as I keep forgetting to take the pill i need to start doing something more long term instead, so now i have a decision to make - the coil or the implant. I have to choose which one creeps me out the least. Any opinions?

Make sure the flash is off, get nice and close, keep camera on by your side, but out of view, try and get her entertained with something, get her into a smiling frenzy if poss (easier than trying to catch one smile)..... and get DH to stand behind you but above, taking shots, or if youre by yourself. hold camera to side of your face and take from there.
Landen hates the camera hiding faces, and thats why he stops smiling but if i hold it to the side he fixates on my face and i can get some photos of him, and it looks almost like he's looking at camera

  • Bex, Izzy is 20 months, and DH has only ever got up with her in the night once. she screamed and screamed even more tilly mummy came and he has been to scared to try since :( He won't give her a bath either - I'm not sure if that is for the same reason, or because she is a girl ?

And photos - I just take millions and then only show people the good ones. I have had sessions when she was tiny where I've lay her down on a blanket and just had a play with her and taken 50+ photos while we were playing, and got 2 or 3 good ones out of the lot, but it is fun trying :)
