  • Thanks millions workinmummy, you have really cheered me up! :D DH has been shopping and bought me some nice steak and green veggies for my tea. :) Feeling a bit better now, but just got to wait for the morning.

I know this sounds daft but I wouldnt want DH getting up at 5am if he has to work all day. When he comes back he does spend what precious times he has with her. He also does loads of household things- the only thing he doesnt really do is cook.

    Thanks for advice on weaning.

((HUGS)) Michelle - it honestly does get better.

All I can say hun is that if you could be ar5ed to search through all of our posts you will find that we all had days/weeks/rough times like you are describing. We all thought we were going to go mad through lack of sleep or something else and we all worried needlessly about things when we should have been chilling out and enjoying our babies.

This is in no means meant as a criticism (neither am I suggesting that you should be ar5ed to search through our posts ;)) but believe me that very soon you will have a grown up girl who doesn't want to spend 2 minutes cuddling you because she has much more fun stuff to be getting up to. It doesn't make it any less draining but try to enjoy her babyhood whilst it lasts - your only job ATM is to make sure your beautiful girl is fed and happy, and whilst sometimes it feels like the hardest thing in the world you are doing a fantastic job xx

Have you got lansinoh for those nipples?

Krystal is absolutely right that the experience of the thread seems mostly to be that feeding em doesn't make em sleep any more - some people have had the exact opposite.

No probs. I am very sad that Alex is no longer loving the jumperoo. But very happy that it will be in loving hands soon. I'll clean it up and then we can sort delivery or meeting up etc. I
  • I'm the same really, I did all the night feeds and always got up early during the week because he has to go to work, but now she's a bit bigger thankfully she sleeps through and we take it in turns to get up... When this baby is born I'll do the night feeds and the getting up when he's working because it's easier for me to have a quiet day at home (although I won't have the day time sleep luxury that I had with Caitlyn!) but I think it's important we take it in turns at the weekend, even if it's just the one day... 5 hours of unbroken sleep is a luxury men just don't understand if they're not experiencing the night wakings!

It does get better too, I promise :)

And also, work on your positioning if feeding is becoming uncomfortable... She might be getting lazy in opening her mouth up wide enough...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • Hello all,

Been busy lurking but I thought I had better de-lurk for a while :rotfl:

David has finally started to sleep properly although he still has 1 feed at about 2 am.... (sorry WIM :o) He now goes down in his cot awake but is almost always asleep before I even get to the bottom of the stairs :j. I think being so active is helping to wear him out. He is now zooming around on his walker and can take 4 or 5 steps on his own too :T

MFD - How is Benjamins tongue now?

NMS - How is Liams eczema? Have you tried going dairy free yet? David has virtually no eczema now he is dairy free and my diet is almost dairy free :j

Secret Santa - The Final Plan

Anyone who would like to be involved with secret santa, please pm me with the following:

    1. Ages of your kids that you'd like involved come Xmas
    2. Any allergies that you or your littles ones suffer from
    3. Address.

    Please note :

From the preliminary round the following have been set
You'd be buying a gift for mum and kiddies (the pairings are done based on similar circumstance, e.g multiples with other multiples)

There is a £10 spending guide (as everyone's budgets are different but a guide means noone feels pressured to spending more than they've got) in total.

PM's must be received by 10 November so that the pairings can be allocated and gives people plenty of time to shop/post/make

I have sent you a FB request :D. I will PM you shortly

tbh Although they look great the fabric isn't that nice, not sure if the proper ones are better (they are fakes of a french brand IIRC)

FYI Ed is around 20lbs, usually wears 6-9/9-12 trousers and those are size 80cm:)

  • Hi Hammy :D

Thank you for asking about Benjamin's tongue. It is all healed but it has a line down it which looks like it will be a permanent reminder of his holiday :( Bless him!

Yay for walking and sleeping!! :T:T
