This was before DS1 was born, or even conceived! All we had in them days was interlfora and teleflora lol! The supermarkets only had peely-wally bunches of carnations at that time too. SO I have no idea about the new online ones.

Right I better go do some cleaning. My head hurts on one side, feels like I have popped a vein with all my dead sexah coughing and AHHHH-eeeeeuuurrgghhhggmmmmbleurgh ing. Dead posh me *sneeeerrrrttttffffffaghrem*

OMG I'm looking at the Guardian Food and they have a feature with student recipes. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall seems to think a student can pay £22 for the ingredients for one meal  that was a weekly budget for me!!
If I was going to spend that much on a meal I'd eat out so that someone else did all the work for me.

Hope you're feeling better soon. Friday is fine with me. I think it takes about 40-60 minutes depending on the traffic.

I'm so excited as our holiday is almost here - have I mentioned that before ;):D

However, I've spent weeks planning for LO about what she'll need at Granny and Grandads, ordered wet weather gear etc, researched things for them all to do and suddenly realised that I've not organised myself for my trip :rotfl: typical!

The gas is back on and the hot water is back on and the leak is fixed but I cant get my oven to light! The hob is ok so I know the gas is going through and I can see the spark thing going when I press the button. Is it normal for a new oven to be a PITA to light? I havent got it to go on yet, I assume the gas man would have checked it, I saw him test the hob. And !!!!!!, S is awake already, I only put him down a hour ago, he hardly slept last night and now he's had less than a hours nap, can someone tell him he is a PITA and mummy would like a nap too if she can ever get this facking oven to work. Woe is me!!

  • Hugs Em. I don't think it is normal for a new oven not to light. Do you have one of those cooker lighter things like this http://www.lakeland.co.uk/handy-lighter/F/product/1114?src=gpute&sq=cooker%20lighter? I guess a lighter would be too dangerous.

We've just worn H out at a soft play place but he had a great time. It's only £2 to get in and that includes a biscuit and a drink for the little one. He's napping now, even though it's lunch time.

Does anyone have a nice set of wooden alphabet blocks, and if so where did you get them? I want some for H's Ikea wooden truck as he loves it at the moment.

could you phone and ask if he checked the oven? and if he has tips on getting it going?

I would be tempted to try and light it with something like a VERY long taper - but DO NOT advise this as that would be silly :rotfl:

in my first flat years ago my gas oven took an age to light - you just had to keep pressing it again and again.

could you check the manual - google for help?

i know this is a stupid question emlou buts it not gas hob/electric oven is it... thats what ours is....

ok calmed down a bit now so w*nk job update.
Landen woke up at 10 to 5 this morning and I asked DH to get up, which he did making a song and dance, huffing and moaning.... Then Landen woke up again at half 6 so i asked him to get up, and it was his turn, and he said no i got up with him an hour ago, and i said yes but i was up with him all yesterday morning and let you have a 4 hour lay in. So he gets up, and crashes and bangs about, and then brings Landen into our room, plonks him on the bed next to me, and says "Im going to sort out Gordon"......

Came d/stairs and he wouldnt talk to me, just one word answers and starts doing random jobs in the house so he doesnt have to talk to me, like re-sorting his dvds. So I was asking what was wrong, and he kept saying nothing. So i said I know why it is anyway, its because I asked you to get up with Landen this morning.

Que over indulgent rant on his behalf. "I go to work for 12 hours, i get up every morning with him, AND sort out Gordon and let you lay in!"

Now I didnt respond for a while, and then said well i thought since i gave you a 4 hour lay in and sorted everything out maybe that was enough for you, but obviously it wasnt and you should get more" (hint of sarcasm)....

Anyway I've been with Landen all morning, and got him to sleep, so I ASKED if i was ok to go for a shower!
So i was formulating my attack in the shower and i figured ok maybe he's got a point, he does see to Landen's morning feed, and yes he does walk the dog most mornings.....

BUT OH MY GOD, HOLD THE PHONE! You'd think he was saving thousands from dying the way he was making it out....

Part of me really wanted to say, oh yes because i dont see to him all day when you're at work, and when you are here. Yesterday you're moaning at him because he wasn't instaneously asleep when he was getting tired, you said yourself you've got no patience and then moan when Landen gets upset whilst sitting on you, and say that he hates you....

but i havent just held my breath...... and stewed....

i know he has a point, he does get up with him etc and when he's at work maybe i should be getting up with Landen..... but then part of me is thinking, wheres my bleeding day off then, wheres my thanks for doing everything in the house, wheres my thanks for doing your laundry, cooking every meal, letting him watch whatever he wants on tele when he's off, hoovering, cleaning etc etc....

And to be honest, im just so sick of having the same piggin' argument.....i may as well just hold my breath and carry on, and do everything as its the only way to get any peace....

Is it definitely a gas oven? Not an electric oven and a gas hob :p
