Not been on the past few days due to A having a growth spurt- well I hope it is because I am going to go insane if it carries on... She has totally regressed with her sleeping and is exactly how she was when about 2/3 weeks old- now getting up 3/4 times a night to feed and then waking at 5am to get up! She is also feeding every hour during the day so my b00bs are very sore. I am on the verge of giving her formula as my nips hurt a lot due to all the extra feeds plus I dont think I can last another day doing the night feeds then being up all day too as DH is at work. Well, im off back to bed now as shes due for her morning nap- thats if she goes to sleep as her nap times are all over the place.

Is this normal? Shes 14 weeks today. Please tell me it's a phase!

Ladybird, Aimee used to sleep with a lamp on... In the beginning I used to turn it off when I went to bed but then she started waking in the night and either crying for it or coming to my room and waking me up to put it on so I just gave in in the end and left it on all night... She stopped not long before Caitlyn came along... One day I said she was old enough to sleep with no light on and she didn't argue, never made a fuss at bedtime either...

I used to worry that she wasn't getting a decent nights sleep because it wasn't pitch black (and all the experts say it should be pitch black!), but she doesn't seem to have suffered from it

Hi Michelle - yes it is normal, and just a phase. It is her way of telling your body that she needs a bit more milk now she is bigger. (Not that you aren't producing enough, but your body responds to her cues, so she will tell you when she needs more iyswim). Make sure you have a big glass of water and some biccies by your feeding spot and stick it out.

Yes, very very normal... It's the reason a lot of people wean early because the baby suddenly seems more hungry, but if you hang in there, she'll up your supply and she'll settle down very soon. Promise

Sounds exactly like what Alfie was like around that age Michelle, it does pass and gets much easier! If it;s been going on a few days already you're probably near the end now

Remind me again never to try and make 5 lots of soup in one go :eek: it took ages and still have to blitz it and add cream today (gave up last night!!) - it seemed like a good idea at the time:cool:

Totally normal and a particularly uncomfortable phase, but as soon as your body's regulated supply to demand she'll calm down again. In the meantime, if you and she are at home all day together, spend it in bed. Make some sandwiches and have some fruit by the bedside (keep the sandwich in a box so it doesn't go hard) and some water, and spend the day together in bed. Sleep when she sleeps, eat when you're hungry, change nappies on a towel and dump them in a nearby bag. You'll feel better for it xxx

What a busy day for birthdays! Is it approx. 9 months after the Christmas & New Year celebrations?


V has very kindly shared her cold/runny nose with me. And i've slept funny and have a funny neck too.

She's very snotty and baggy-eyed, so we tried to give her some calpol last night before bed. I'm not actually sure if any went in, she didn't like it, but when she finally went to sleep, she slept in her bed until 6am.
