    Feel like a failure

All the emails I get updating me on what E should be doing upset me, he excels in some things, but cant do other things, like he cant sit up on his own which apparantly he should be able to do :(
:grouphug: They're based on averages and it's normal for children to develop at different rates in different areas. I can remember Charlotte being way ahead of Alice in some things and behind her in others when they were little but they both seem to be fairly similar and normal now. And my OH didn't sit up until eleven months and he turned out okay. If he was behind in absolutely everything then it might be a concern but if it's just the odd thing and he's ahead on thers than that's fairly normal as we all have different strngths and weaknesses. I wouldn't say he's behind for sitting up anyway - typical age range is 6-9 months and he's only just six months.

I told OH about the conversations about bottom wiping yesterday and Alice must have been listening because she's just announced, "Mummy I'm wiping my poo - I can do it myself on my own. I don't need any help."

Be careful with the toilet wipes, they do not flush well through the drains and cause alot of blockages. DH has seen alot of it. Shame though because they're much better than paper.

Also when do you up the amount of food?

E started on 3 meals a day on monday, so for breakfast, lunch and tea he has half a jar, he still has 4 8-9oz bottles a day and one in the night.

When should he be dropping bottles and which should he drop?

He has bottles at, 6.30am, 10.30am, 2.30pm, 6.30pm then midnight
He has food at 8.30am, 12.30pm and 4.30pm
I used to stop offering milk feeds when Alice started being fussy about it and not feeding for very long. But we had four daytime feeds and a 10pm feed up to 13 months so she was quite a bit older when we started dropping feeds.

What a busy day for birthdays! Is it approx. 9 months after the Christmas & New Year celebrations? ;)

I would say yes, Alex was due on the 20th, but wouldn't wait that long. Except Alex wasn't a celebration baby, he was a god we've got an afternoon to ourselves, whilst Joe is out with his friend baby. ;)

Awh Hugs Kindof. Elliot will progress at his own pace. Alex is now one and just cruising the sofa. He is way behind Glams Jack who was born 1 day before him. He only sat up at at 9 months and started crawling at 11 months. Please don't worry. I see it this way. Alex stays my little baby longer. :D

Must also say the conversation last night made me proper LOL.
But I can say i don't think that i have ever looked /rummaged for my cervix.

Also, where is Glam? Sami have you spoken to her recently?

We have a packet of wipes and a bin near the potty. (Apparently the potty is much more conducive to poos than the toilet.)

Alice thinks SJ and WM have similar avatars - she was pointing at Alex and saying, "That's Elphie".
