  • We just give Lily a toy doll that someone bought her when she was born and she started eating its hand and laying on it. Lets hope she grows out of that before baby arrives :rotfl:

I just found Cherry Has A Baby on a totally legal download site. Will I get dust in my eye if I watch it?
If you got dust in your eyes when you watched OBEM then I imagine you probably will.

When I watched OBEM I was always chopping invisible onions, never mind dust in my eyes :o

SS, possibly, though you may want to slap 'career mum' :rotfl:

    Tara and Redstar:

    4 tbsp olive oil
    1 onion, diced
    1 clove garlic, crushed/chopped finely
    25g butter
    250g risotto rice
    750ml chicken or veg stock
    400g tin chopped tomatoes
25g grated Parmesan, plus extra to serve
    Salt and pepper to taste
    2 handfuls of rocket leaves.

Heat 1 tbsp of oil in pan. Soften garlic and onion.

Cover base of s/c with rest of oil. Put onions, garlic, butter, rice, stock and tomatoes in s/c and mix well. Put lid on and cook on low for 2hrs, or until stock has been absorbed. Don't be tempted to stir or remove lid.

Stir in cheese, and season to taste. Fold in rocket and sprinkle with extra cheese.

Tbh, I've not made this version, but I've followed the basics using 'eyeballed' amounts of mushrooms, and also butternut squash. I also can't vouch it actually serves 4, but you may be less [STRIKE][/STRIKE]greedy[STRIKE][/STRIKE] hungry than OH and I:o

:rotfl: When I read that, it made me think of that woman on Tigs' programme who was training her dog on how to behave with a baby.

But based on anecdotal eveidence, I'm sure she will be fine with the new baby.

Nursery visit was okay - it seems good enough (but not spectacular IYSWIM), but the woman showing me around wasn't exactly overly forthcoming with info. Prolly not helped by me not knowing what to ask! I'm still biased towards CMs so that's probably why I was a little reluctant to be enthusiastic with question-asking.

I actually have no clue what to do about milk. Finn will take water from a cup, but I have no idea if he would do milk and in any sort of meaningful quantities. He eats quite a bit of food so I'm wondering if I weren't there to provide it, if he would actually be fine going all day with no feeds? Does anyone else have any experience/advice here?? It's a rather sharp transition and I'm wondering if it's too much to ask - currently he feeds at 10am & 2pm still but he has gone without one of those in the past and been fine (so a lot of it is habit).

In that case you may find it rather dusty.

I would think he'd be fine now without daytime feeds. My friends son is the same age and he stopped a couple of weeks ago as his diet is pretty good. X
Too many children, too little time!!!
    :p
  • Kindof - I just wanted to add, please don't worry about E's development. I think those emails are designed to make us feel crap. Amelie took what seemed like ages to sit up and to crawl - but she went straight into walking at about 9 months! By the time they go to school (if not ages before) they tend to all have caught up and you'll have no idea which children took forever to talk or crawl or walk, because it has no lasting effect.

Thanks :) I think whoever writes them should be sacked lol

Thanks EA :) its crap isnt it that they say dadada first everytime E says it I am like ok how about mama lol, he has said mamamama twicethat Ive heard yay lol

Thanks Susan and Weezle, what do you mean E has more babble?

Anyone have a bread making recepie for someone who hasnt got a breadmaker?

Ive just had the most horrible pain in my ovary I had to lay on sofa clutching a cushion for 45 mins, I felt sick and was all shivery it was awful, thankfully E played by himself on mat while I was ill

James was embarrassed at school. Apparantly he unfolded his his PE top at school and there was a little pair of pink knickers stuck on the back :o Some stuff was still damp when I took it off the line at the weekend so I finished them off in the tumble drier. They must have clung on then and I didn't notice.

poor thing - i hope its quickly forgotten. But it did make me smile :D
    Feel like a failure

All the emails I get updating me on what E should be doing upset me, he excels in some things, but cant do other things, like he cant sit up on his own which apparantly he should be able to do :(

YOU ARE A FAB MUMMY and E is doing really well. You sai it your self - he excels in some things and not in others. We and our children are all like that. I'm good a language, not so great at maths. My LO is great at physical stuff, not so much at the sitting down and concentrating stuff ;)

We have a packet of wipes and a bin near the potty. (Apparently the potty is much more conducive to poos than the toilet.)

Would that be the position - our potty means that knees are high, bottom low, the toilet would make knees about the same level as bottom IYKWIM??

today has been a much better day so far. You lot really sorted me out - thanks again.
