Beenie - have you exhausted the council complaints procedure yet? Someone independent of the situation should look at your case and give you an answer. They have to reply within the statutory deadline, so there's no fobbing you off. And if they DO fob you off, you can escalate to the Local Government Ombudsman, who will look at your complaint objectively. Please don't less their a$$-hattery slide!

So I got offered the job I interviewed yesterday morning. :o Should be happy, but really I'm just sad as I've been putting off thinking about this for months now and I don't want to leave my baby. Still no word from the one I REALLY wanted, but c'est la vie. The semi-good news is it's only a 9 month contract (someone else's mat leave!) so once I start, we can think about TTC within the next couple months! So a bit of :( and :) from me, really.

I meant I would include copies of the letters I sent - not that I wanted a copy of yours.

I know lovely, but I wanted to explain again why I didn't send you a copy because in my head the correspondence should be complete unless there's a good reason for it not to be.

Boob lump is now bigger, my head is aching and is is agony to massage. Molly fed with gusto, which seems to have made it less solid, and I managed to create arcs of milk while massaging, but I think it's still blocked. Does it stop hurting as soon as the blockage is gone?

I have found this nursery and have emailed them asking for a visit etc etc, Charlie has been enrolled at the loacl nursery but i dont feel its the right place for him. The main teacher is very old fashioned and i dont like her! she expects the kids to be quiet and embarrasses the kids. one example is a little boy was forever peeing on the toilet floor, she made the whole class aware which eventually lead to Abi not using the toilet there and holding it until she got home.

The pre school community team are involved with helping to get things in place and i have expressed my worries that its not the right place but they think they can make it work. I know he will run rings around them??? this is the nursery what do you think?

It looks good but the only way to really tell is by visiting it.

I see - I was a bit confused by your post.

Depends how long it's been there - I remember one of mine feeling sore for a while afterwards. A bit like a bruise or an aching muscle. So long ago I can't remember how long it lasted though.

:grouphug: I wonder if it would help if you had some kind of regular routine? I'm sure you already have one to some extent (i.e. naps, eating meals) but once you're no longer feeding them all the time, you end up up with big unstructured spaces of time to fill between those things. I've found that Alice does better when we mainly have routine to our days than when we don't. She's generally fine with unusual days but I do notice a difference in her behaviour if we have lots of disruption over a number of days - it tends to be fairly similar to the effects of not enough sleep. It may not work for you and I'm certainly not suggesting it might be a magic solution or anything but it might be something which helps a little bit.

thats a good point susan. She is worse on days that are different, unless there are lots of people giving her attention (like on holiday or the weekend). I'm quite routine driven so makes sense she would be too. I'll look at that a bit closer tongiht when I get a moment.
R.Mac - just wanted to send you a hug and say 'I know that feeling very well' :(.
My daughter isn't malicious but she is VERY energetic and she still wears me out. I took her to Gymboree for ages and most of the time she wouldn't join in, and just ran around. Towards the end of the time we went, she joined in more - by then she was nearly 4:eek:.
She finds it really hard to just calm down - she can focus on drawing or one of her 'how to read/write' books for ages, but if we go into town, she can be a nightmare. I spend a lot of time thinking that I must be an awful mum, especially as I've found it quite hard to cope with her at home during my maternity leave, when she gets on really well at nursery (and now school).

You are really not failing, she's obviously a bright, well-balanced, active and curious little girl - unfortunately this can also mean that they are demanding and exhausting!

redstar - big hugs xxxxxxx We are great mummies - and have great children :D But its the hardest job on the planet! I have so much more new found respect for every mother in the world......but particularly my own. I was a nightmar eby all accounts...!:rotfl:;):o

    Sometimes I despair of Alice:
Me: The Charlie and Lola book goes on the bookcase.
A: Bookcase? [points and random item] Is this the bookcase?
Me: No, it's that thing with all the books on.
A: Oh bookcase. [walks to bookcase] This is the bookcase.
It's like she just forgets totally random things which she knows.

And now she's got more books out to read even though she was supposedly tidying up so we could watch Numberjacks. I just asked her what she's doing and she said, "Looking."
