  • 3/Rmac - Katie definitely knows Daddy is a soft touch, she is a complete nightmare if Daddy is around, but is fine when he isn't.

i.e. no Daddy breakfast is eaten without fuss. Daddy around she does everything she possibly can to get him to feed her, which he does most of the time he doesn't like me getting cross with her! So I end up cross at both of them.

Mummy put her to bed, I read her a book, she lies in bed looking at a couple of others goes to sleep after about 15 minutes. Daddy put her to bed he's up there for up to an hour whilst she strokes his elbow!

He did not like one night when he came home to find me doing Controlled Crying - she was 16 months old and I decided she was big enough to settle herself, I literally had to push him downstairs to stop him going to her to pick her up.
Proud to be dealing with my debts

SS, just being nosy really, do you speak to Molly in both German and English?

This is the only quote that worked and now I have to remember everything!

We speak English at home and mostly German out and about. Going anywhere is a production because we pass a few shops where we know the owners/staff so we always have to stop, say hello and try to wave. There's an Italian ice cream seller that Molly hates, she always just gives him blank stare and no wave no matter how hard I try :rotfl: and he loves kids and is always gutted.

Massive hugs for Susan, Jillie and MacSmiler. for 3 and her waywayd chair leg, I've stepped on Molly a few times when she's crept up on me and always feel dreadful afterwards.

MacSmiler, if I can put my nerd hat on for a minute, the behaviour you're describing seems to be all about testing her boundaries and yours and seeing what patterns of behaviour are the ones she should follow. It seems a bit early, so obviously she's a clever little beastie, but that might work in your favour because she may understand the things she's trying to figure out sooner and her behaviour will become consistent. You're doing great, just be consistent and show her what's ok and what isn't.

Does the church hall have those flickering neon lights? Some kids are really bothered by them.

Edit: Just saw the pic Claire and EEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEE cute!

    awwww - they're cute :)

My parents have that wallpaper in blue in their bedroom :D

Another busy day today. Got work to do this morning, then I ordered some plants off ebay that arrived yesterday. They're all just bare rootballs wrapped in clingfilm, so I need to get them planted out.
Here I go again on my own....

    Morning all!

Poor little Finn has a snotty baby cold :(. Prolly from all the travelling, but that would explain his extreme grottiness yesterday.

SS, that list makes my head hurt. You do all that AND a full-time job?! I like Pigpen's flylady as it's in pretty colors and seems all friendly-like :rotfl:...

Totally forgot to register with GP yesterday while DH was home, so kicking selves now especially as Finn is well overdue his 8 month check. Not that I'm concerned about anything, it would just be nice is all.

    Claire, Charlie looks sooooooooo cute!!

Rmac, SS's advice sounds great so I don't have anything to add other than hugs and maybe some burst of energy vibes!!

But aless, it's super simple - when Molly goes to bed I wash dishes, when I'm done I wipe down the countertops. On my way back from the kitchen I pick up her toy explosion and leave it neat for the next day, and during the course of the day I keep in mind that I want to put things away so when I see something out of place I put it where it's supposed to be (like this morning the Victorian cookbook is at my desk, as is a cereal bowl and a mug, plus an envelope that needs to go with the other documents - almost half my put-away stuff right there). The laundry's simply a matter of loading and turning it on, then today Husband will move it to the dryer and hopefully fold it, everything else that isn't a work thing is going to be a ten minute job max. If I get everything done on one day, I know what else needs to be done so I can keep on going, and if I don't get it all done it just stays on the list for tomorrow.

When I read the post this morning about not putting the washing out and having a convenient excuse to use the dryer instead, I thought the real Susan had been kidnapped and replaced with an imposter. :rotfl:
:rotfl: If I was an imposter I wouldn't have caught all my spreadsheets up on Monday though.
